  1. I think a lot of non-Cardinals fans are enjoying this. At this point I'm honestly curious what it would take for them to drop any lower than 24 on ESPN's power rankings.
  2. Hoping against all hope that the $32 million Cabrera is getting this season will help overpay for a couple bats next season.
  3. The second-worst offense prevailed over the worst offense as the A's defeated the Tigers 1-0 in 10 innings. Tigers have been shut out 10 times this season.
  4. The two worst offenses in MLB are currently locked in a scoreless tie in the 7th inning, in a game that started an hour and a half ago. Who needs offense, anyway?
  5. The huge explosive fireworks are fun at baseball games...not so much when 3 people in your neighborhood are doing them all at once at 11 p.m.
  6. I always thought he was a passive player playing for a passive coach. Not a desirable combination.
  7. This is probably what I hate most about interstates. Interstates were designed for faster travel. I want to get up to 75 and just hit cruise control. It's so annoying constantly having to brake for trucks that do this.
  8. I read yesterday that Indiana has had 44 tornado reports this year, when the state averages only 22 annually. The year is only half over and we've already doubled that number.
  9. Indiana fans (and Purdue fans, for that matter) have this weird fascination and bond with players who come from Indiana. I've never quite figured out why, or why it seems to be exclusive to this state.
  10. He's got his work cut out for him, that's for sure. Pretty cool to learn he was a finalist for the job in 1995.
  11. There are a lot of myopic IU fans in this world. I never thought you were one of them.
  12. Don't forget, they suspended him for Kraziness in the Kennel too! 🤣
  13. Probably a good thing Al Avila got canned last summer. Had two #1 draft picks, wasted one on a pitcher who hasn't thrown in 14 months and now this.
  14. They moved up in ESPN's power rankings last week after going 1-5.
  15. If you draft a guy #1 and he barely hits .200 as a rookie and is then hitting .224 the next year, is it anything to worry about? Asking for a friend.
  16. I'd rather see them turn into a dumpster fire with a new coach while Woodson has us humming along and we kick their asses for a few years. I grew up in the Mike Davis era watching us lose to them every year and dreamed of a time when we'd finally start smacking them around. Maybe it'll finally happen.
  17. I could have sworn I heard awhile back this was going to resume in the '24-'25 season. Can't help but wonder if Calipari said '25-'26 because he's not planning to be there for it.
  18. The McDonald's in my community has long been an example of how to not be successful, but this is a new low even for them.
  19. Finally got a real thunderstorm for the first time in a month and the wind damaged my milkweed garden. Another air quality alert in effect tomorrow and no rain predicted all week. This summer sucks.
  20. What is the point of a "silent" commitment? Never understood that.
  21. I know construction is important, but holy sh*t, Indy and the surrounding area are a mess right now.
  22. That division could be a sitting duck if the Cardinals get hot in August again. They're 17-18 since starting 10-24 and have actually gained a game on first place in that span. The Brewers and Pirates wouldn't be playoff teams in the other two divisions. Maybe the Reds end up taking it?
  23. The Tigers have to be leading MLB in interleague games postponed.
  24. Are you still watching on a TV with rabbit ears on top? I don't think I've ever not been able to find an IU game when it was against a Big Ten team.
  25. I just can't wrap my mind around why you think the hardest schedule possible is going to benefit this program in any way. Back in 2010/2011 when Nebraska was getting ready to join the league, there were discussions on our old scout.com board about what the divisions might look like. Someone proposed a division that had us in with OSU, Michigan and PSU (quite prophetic, actually). One of the site's most prominent posters felt that if that ever happened, it would be a death knell for this program, because there was very little chance we could compete with that year in and year out. We're going into our 10th and (thankfully) final season of being in the Big Ten East. In that time frame, we have zero wins against OSU, one against Michigan and one against PSU, and those two both occurred in the same year when everything got weird. Is our program better now than it was a decade ago? We just had zero players drafted and we're bringing in the worst recruiting class in the conference. Maybe playing those three teams got you excited and held your interest more than playing Minnesota or Illinois would have, but I think there's a lot more evidence suggesting this annual schedule stuffed our program in a trash can and left us wondering if it can ever be fixed.
