  1. This is the key for me, is CW willing to adapt and make necessary changes? After listening to coach Cig, I don't see how Scott will just accept CW telling him he's just gonna "keep working on it." CW also needs to admit the errors made in roster construction and have a plan for properly utilizing our NIL resources to build a product consistent with our financial commitments.
  2. You beat me to it. I remember watching Wennington go against Patrick Ewing, Ronny Seikaly, and Ed Pickney in the Big East. He was VERY skilled and crafty. The 80s lumberjack look may have lead some to think he was less athletic and skilled than he really was at the time. Nice NBA career as a role player as well.
  3. Washington just dropped down a level with the loss of Deboer. Think they'll be more Wisky than OSU/Michigan now. They're a program we need to be able to compete with along with UCLA. Getting out of the B1G East means our schedule should be more favorable going forward for CCC. I may now have to cheer for coach Deboer's team.
  4. I would have to board up my home and business if that were to occur!
  5. I would tend to agree. Think they can do better. With Sexton heavily involved, there will be smoke just to drive up contracts for several of his coaches.
  6. Mega agent Jimmy Sexton is in Tuscaloosa, so something is in the works. Bama fans would LOVE to get Kiffin. Some crazy Bama fans think Belichick would be Kiffin's DC.🤣🤣 Mike Norvell is the betting favorite, but who knows. They also think Demeco Ryans would leave the Texans because he played for Saban.🤣
  7. Forgot Deboer switched to Jimmy Sexton as his agent last summer. There's our connection! He is also the agent for Kiffin and Sark. A Sark bidding war between Bama and Texas could be fun theater.
  8. Just saw that. Bama fans REALLY wanted him. On to the next rumor...
  9. Good point. As far as Dabo, Bama fans were ready to hand the reigns over to him 5 years ago. Now they're not so hot on him. Think Lanning was they're first choice, but now we see if Jimmy Sexton can get Lane Kiffin to Tuscaloosa.
  10. Agree, but with Washington joining the B1G, Deboer will be tougher to land. I don't think he has any connections to Bama or the SEC, does he?
  11. Hearing a ton of smoke around Lanning from alums. Need to move fast. Recruits are being poached quickly. Ryan Williams decommited. Huge loss.
  12. Age and leveling the playing field in recruiting caught up to Saban. Absolutely phenomenal coach that was at the right school at the right time. Mega resources, along with willingness to spend on facilities and recruiting.
  13. Agree. And add Ohio State to that list as well. Bama basically lost to a terrible Auburn team too.
  14. I think this needs to be drilled home to Malik by the coaches. Make a move or pass quickly. He forces way too many shots into double and triple teams. Our guys need to also let those open looks from 3 fly. We still pass up way too many good looks.
  15. Something's just different about this guy. The staff and roster he has assembled are legit. It's hard not to get excited for this season!
  16. Not just had the ball up 2, but had a 5 on 4 fast break...
  17. These are all good examples. I would also point to CCC's emphasis on transfers that have produced results, not guys with "potential" that didn't pan out somewhere else. The ability to catch the ball or tackle will translate. Playmakers make plays.
  18. With those kind of numbers, he better perform, or he'll get sacked!
  19. I guess this is why they let Dunnam walk?
  20. That kid is a STUD. Our school played them in the state title game last season. He plays like Percy Harvin. I'll be shocked if he doesn't go to Bama, but it's a sad state when you're still shopping after giving your word.
  21. This is exactly how I feel about the bowl games. You use to be able to have bragging rights and assess the strength of conferences from bowl match-ups. I have very little interest watching 2nd and 3rd string players making their first starts. Watch how ESPN/SEC beat their chest and justify what they did to FSU when Georgia waxes FSU without 20 of their players in some nothing bowl game.
  22. It helped Miller having Tuscaloosa cops and DA. We'll just call it extreme benefit of the doubt.
  23. Great points. This is the exact reason why I'm confused how people are disappointed in recruiting these guys over from JMU. CCC took the best, most experienced players from his top 25 team. He knows they're ability and character, and they know HIS system and expectations. I don't know how anyone could honestly be opposed to what they will bring to CCC's first team at IU. I for one am very excited to see what he is building, and guys experienced in his system should expedite the building process. They, along with retaining our best players, and adding transfers, give us a completely different team next season. How can you not be at least a little excited?!
  24. Exactly. It takes time to build relationships in recruiting. I would assume we'll be tilted heavier towards the transfer portal this year than most. Spring transfers will still be huge for Coach Cig's first team. We won't know our full recruiting class for months.
  25. Exactly! Eventually some may start with us as freshmen once we start winning and solidify our brand.
