  1. I'm actually hopeful the team pulls together and wins. 21-17 good guys.
  2. Coaches may have given their final pitch to Boogie, but Liam McNeeley has not! Make the call, and go get him Liam!!
  3. That's a great point. Cam Camper showed major frustration when he was interviewed after the OSU game with play calling. To his credit, he didn't say anything negative. Can't imagine he's happy at this point with the way the season has gone. The entire situation is beyond frustrating. We better get a couple wins soon, or the wheels will fall completely off.
  4. I see what you're saying from a consistency standpoint, but as optimistic as I am, we were never going to win that game in Ann Arbor. We needed to see both qb's in multiple game situations. Bell looked for different things than Carey does. It's unfortunate neither qb separated themselves, but then again, it was against Michigan's defense in the rain. Sorsby's legs and grit honestly would give him an edge in my book. Tayven has great arm potential, but he seems to preselect a receiver, stare him down, and throw it there whether it's the correct read or not. The Rutgers game should be the final game to determine permanent qb1 this season. That being said, I don't know the dynamics of the locker room, and CTA can't lose the team to close the season or he's finished. Let’s hope one of the qbs has a great week and we smoke Rutgers.
  5. DQ reminds me a little of Sean May after watching last night. Similar frame, hands, and game. If we were to land him, he most likely would play Malik's role from last season as a freshman. Malik and Sparks would both be veterans and know our system much better. Let DQ learn, develop, and get stronger/more explosive without asking him to be the focal point in the post as a freshman.
  6. Not sure about a song, but there was a lovely discussion with a mom and her daughter walking on the beach. Always perfectly timed during ballgames. πŸ˜‚
  7. Good point. We'll find out what this team and staff have left in them.
  8. It's not just the talent discrepancy of the starters, it's the depth of talent. You're correct the gap shouldn't be as wide as it is, but that's the current situation. And the penalties killed our momentum to end the first half. Easily could've been 14-14 to start the second half.
  9. Lucas is starting to look a little contact shy. Can't help but think running him between the tackles, at his size, has worn him down physically and mentally. Michigan isn't a great measure of where we're at talent wise. Rutgers, Illinois, MSU, and Purdue will give us a chance to see what we can do against comparable talent. Offense looked better early; that's my positive takeaway.
  10. I'm very interested to see what the new offensive approach will be with Carey. Michigan will be quite a challenge for his first game, but I'd really like to see how he can use what we currently have on the team. Turner between the tackles, Lucas in space, and shots down the field to our talented receivers. Hopefully both QBs get an opportunity to show what they can do.
  11. We need Fox Sports to do the same for IU/B1G. ESPN is just promoting their product UK/SEC. Sad fact of the current sports world we live in.
  12. Our rapid 3 and outs put too much on our defense. Especially plays that have little chance of success (option). The defense has had some solid stops, only to be right back on the field in poor field positions. That has to be demoralizing. The offense needs to give them support with some decent drives.
  13. I'd like to say it can't get any worse, but we did barely squeeze by Akron!πŸ˜…
  14. With Fuente in position as an analyst, I feel like we have the best offensive strategists since Deboer. Carey knows who we have, what they can and can't do, and how our young qb's are progressing. Not saying it will change overnight, but simply stopping some of the stupidity of the option and goal line cluelessness will help. Having two weeks to overhaul should help. And Bostad's blocking philosophy should mesh well with Carey. Let Fuente add to what Carey has been observing, and we have the best chance for success.
  15. Pretty solid OC at TCU with Andy Dalton. Had some really good teams at Memphis. Tough following a legend at Virginia Tech.
  16. Payton moves better than I thought from Ball State videos. Our post options are numerous in terms of combinations and styles.
  17. This is a great question. Tayven has a ton of arm potential, and has had some great drives. He also throws high frequently and struggles to make simple reads at times. Brendan is more mobile and physical as a runner. He has a strong arm, but not quite as much zip as Tayven. I honestly think he was put in worse situations against OSU when they were being evaluated. Bell had stubborn support of his chosen QB1s. Bazelak was evidence of this. Hopefully coach Carey gives both qb's an honest evaluation, and both get opportunities to get prolonged chances to lead and learn from mistakes without the fear of immediately being yanked. Both qb's have talent and potential. Then we add in Dexter. I trust coach Carey to do what's best for the program this season, and also looking towards the future. He seems like a straight shooter that wants the program to be a success. I would think his input will be relied upon heavily as the program evaluates the current situation moving forward.
  18. Spot on. Better have our feelers out and be ready to overwhelm someone with cash ala Colorado and coach Prime. Invest or be non-competitive in the new B1G. Hiring a mid major coach and hoping they catch lightning in a bottle won't cut it. Have someone from Kelley School of business consult on proper investment parameters.
  19. We need to pin this. Well said. It appears our current president supports athletics more than prior administrations. Dolson has made good hires in other sports. Between B1G TV money and our NIL collective, we should be competitive in football beyond what we've been in the past. Spend big next hire. Next hire has to be an offensive mindset. Preferably a former OC or qb guru with an innovative game plan. If it's a defensive guy, please make sure they're willing to have an innovative offense. We need to spread with speed. Next coach needs to give Seth Littrell a call. I really like CTA, and wish we could slide him over to DC and get a new leader. Won't happen, but that could be fun.
  20. Just waiting for the press conference where Bell doubles down and informs the nation we will be running the wishbone offense the rest of the season. He struggles to adapt for some reason. Did the same thing with Bazelak last season. Must be pretty stubborn.
  21. Agree. Give Sorsby the second half, and let someone else call the plays. Literally can't do worse.
