Eh, I’d wait before saying Scheyer is doing a good job. They were a 5 seed last year, which is the 3rd worst seed Duke’s had in the last 25 years. It’ll be telling how they look once he gets into years 4+ and the Coach K momentum is mostly gone.

Yeah, the recruiting momentum is crazy.  How did they get the number 2, 5 and 6 PF in the same  class to commit.  Obviously Mbako (#2) backed out but the other two are at Duke and averaging about 2 pts per game. I guess it shows you have to look at more than just the ranking.

    Ball State, Eastern Michigan?

He can't play in the Big East or ACC, either, cmon now.

Maybe somewhere like Indiana State.  They have Ryan Conwell averaging 15.9 pts and 4.9 reb. He's a soph from Indy too, He spent a year at South Florida and seems to be flourishing at ISU.  I'd like to see Gunn in a guard oriented system with good coaching and see what he can do.

i don't disagree with you.  i'm not super concerned with getting Indiana kids, but see where you're coming from.  more important than Indiana kids though are the type of kids and right fit.  i mentioned this before though...who on here is confident that Woodson would mold a top team out of lesser talent than what we currently have?  people like to say stars don't matter, etc.  okay, but would Woodson take a bunch of 3 star and some 4 star kids like Painter and make them tough, play great defense, rebound exceptionally, play smart, unselfish, etc.?  as much as i hate Purdue, doesn't Painter do that every year?

I think beyond the right type of kid and right fit, there needs to be assistants that can coach to their system. I don't like that coach Hunter is still on staff. He's been a voice in the players ears since the CAM days. I can see retaining him in the first year for recruiting/retention if need be but he should have been replaced by now. As several people have posted on HSN, there is data showing lineups that have been effective and should be exploited and I think there needs to be someone on staff that can communicate that to CMW.  If he can't or won't see that, then perhaps he is too stuck in his ways to get the maximum from the roster. As someone over 60, I can understand CMW wanting the work environment to be as pleasant for him as possible but I don't think that will allow him to be as successful as he needs to be. I think he needs assistants that can teach the game and get guys better, much like Painter has done. I could be wrong but i thought at one time he had Shrewsberry working offense and Lusk defense. Purdue seems to pretty good at inserting guys like Braden Smith, that aren't highly rated, and getting results immediately. I just fear at this stage in his life CMW can't or won't do what needs to be done.

This bothers me a lot.  And, I can't imagine it sits well with a lot of former players either.  Discipline and accountability appear to be missing.  I'll go back to the preseason and toss out the Taco Bell thing as well.  I thought the punishment was too soft then, and this is just an example of the kind of fallout you have with lax discipline.

For what it's worth, and i know around here it's not much, but Dakich said the other day he heard the real story of what happened at Taco Bell and he said he doesn't blame MM at all so it could very well be there  was no need for any punishment.

There is no way in the world we land Gruden, but if that actually happens I’m requesting an IU visor for Christmas as soon as the news breaks.

Dakich said there is definite interest from Gruden and he is DD's 2nd choice after Dan Mullen. (Mullen told Dakich today he's staying in broadcasting)

Basketball is a weird thing.  How it sailed over my head that Armaan Franklin left school, went undrafted, and is listed on wiki as a g league player but I find no record of him.  Can we just say choices?  Voices?  Be careful who you surround yourself with folks.  Walked away from an amazing degree at a really good school that was probably dropping a solid nil deal for the guy.  What are you doing bro?

He had 15p 7r 4a on Sunday for the Grand Rapids Gold.

They have often replayed the BTN+ games a couple days later on BTN, its how I've always watched these exhibition games. I checked the on-screen guide for BTN this morning and it showed a 2-hour window on Tuesday morning (I think) that was something like "Big Ten Replay" without listing the specific game. I would bet that could be it. I set the DVR for that.  Keep an eye open Tues-Wed to the BTN schedule, I bet it will pop up sometime.

My tv schedule for BTN lists B1G Plus Encore Tuesday-Friday 9-11am. Replays of the best action from Big Ten contests.

Hearing from some more connected to the program that there are legs to the rumor with Forbes. Ya recruited him to Alabama and is the main connection here. I officially have my hopes up on this one!

Tulane coaching staff also with Indiana connections in Ron Hunter and Ray McCallum.

Yeah we’ve seen it before. Talent often gets trumped by a team that wants it and plays together and gives the extra effort.

Indiana was down 77-58 with 7 minutes to go and came back and took the lead but couldn't hold on.  No Xavier Booker for IN.  Last night IN won 95-74 despite no Myles Colvin. Burton had 26 pts.

Well, Wahl will probably be healthy the whole year, and that helps...

To me, Wisconsin is gearing up to have a year like they did in 21-22 when they won the league...tough, competitive, and win close ballgames...3 of those guys are still playing...I know Johnny Davis isn't there, but I saw enough of Essegian to know if he makes a jump, or some of their newcomers can emerge, they'll be tough...

They added AJ Storr from St Johns. 6'6", shot 40% from 3, Big East All Freshman team. Started the last 17 games and averaged 11.8 ppg as a starter.  With Hepburn, Essegian, Storr, Wahl and Crowl, yeah, they could be tough.

So when does the Tipton Edits tweet of "All roads lead to IU" come into play? I really am hoping that Ledlum is at least one of them on that road. I just don't like that Tennessee is pulling last minute visit today.

Doesn't sound like something Tipton Edits would tweet. I did see one from Adam Howard that was something like all roads lead to Bloomington.
