  1. Im not sure what those internal obstacles are? - It's not putting money into facilities -It's not having one of the largest recruiting budgets in the country -It's not salary -It's not paying assistants -It's not limiting media hype or budget around midnight madness and events like that. -Langford, Jackson-Davis, Lander are all McAA talents who signed with IU. And, a bunch of Indiana Mr. Basketballs on this roster.
  2. How big would it be to have Fitz and Ball on the field at the same time? Huge! OL has some youg talent and the transfer and will have some different schemes with coach coming back with some NFL plays. The qb room is deep and wonder if there will be some tweaking to get more athletes on the field.
  3. Anyword on any position changes? Always interesting to hear about who is being converted to play somewhere else.
  4. Let's go Penix! This kid is a stud and have a feeling he is going to be as strong as ever.
  5. The media is getting tired of Archie thinking he is bigger than the job. I'm sorry, but part of the job is to get on the circuit and particpate in shows. Why does Illinois coach and Creighton's coach get interviewed on indy radio more than IU's coach. Why is Roy Williams, UCLA's coach, etc on Chicago radio? They do it because it is part of the gig. Not watching Netflix. Just saying.
  6. Especially when you are paid millions to do these as part of your role.
  7. Or there is more respect for UM than IU. But, that is crazy.
  8. Yep! Crider was a leader and that is hard to replace. He also blocked well. He did struggle with clean snaps, maybe do to lack of reps with covid.
  9. He was a big receiver, height wise. Don't know more than that. Two years in the program. Any word if this will have an impact?
  10. Zack O. Thinks only two to not announce are Harry Crider and Jerome Johnson Never received anything official from Swann yet. How many spots are left with the new covid rules for next year? Any other room for transfers?
  11. Im lactose intolerant and don't need Taco Ball for that. Ha. This year is #breakthrough
  12. Very true, and sad. Hardbaugh getting an extension will make them more of a favorite....lol jk. Got to win a bowel game. Hoping we have a dynamic pass rusher waiting in the wings- and, we get more creative with our running game/staple of running backs. Win a bowl game. Two years, just came up short. Doesn't stop momentum, in my opinion. Big offseason with Wellman - very excited to see what he can do.
  13. Whop would be big, but I actually think the offense will be fine and the young talent needs time to shine. Ball can only go to so many targets. Swann in the kid that would be very helpful for our D. Hope he comes back There are some other tranfers out there that had IU interest in recruiting. Also some midwest, Indiana ties. Wonder who they are talking to? I wonder who are some of the readshirts or should I say true freshman that are ready to breakout?
  14. With the current freshman, kids who got playing time, the FSU transfer and, class coming in, and Fryfogel....man. Speed in the group as well. Going to not only help with O, but ST.
  15. This is going to be interesting. Ball is huge, especially if he was able to keep his athleticism. But, the underclassman are some of the best recruits in program history. The Seniors coming back are very solid and good.....then depth is going to be a positive.
  16. Looks like Swain might be staying another year, from his tweet. If so, that is a big and good development.
  17. It will be interesting. If you can get a masters for free, why not take advantage if your body is able. I do wonder what does it do for the talented underclassman who have a huge upside? How will depth charts be created? Going to be interesting.
  18. Totally agree! There are rumors across Twitter that the new DC will be Wesley McGriff who is a dynamic recruiter and would be a huge get as well. The creativity on offense is surprising. All the top 4 teams display creativity, and we saw it today. Why it isn't in the playbook is surprising. We have the kids to it. Heck, spend a day with in the offseason and pick coach Camerons brain.
  19. Moving forward, this team is moving the right way. Big time transfers coming in, another strong recruiting class and another year to learn and develop. What do you think the offseason storylines are? For me: 1) What can Wellman and staff do. Beleive it or not he was a big get and never could really work with the kids like he can post covid. Many insiders will say he was an upgrade....and, those that left for Alabama were considered the best. 2) Personally never a big fan of Wommack. He showed improvments from year one, but many questionable calls throughout the year. IU did have a great D, but today showed that he can't "disguise" well with uptempo D's. This hire for a new D Coordinator is going to be huge! Huge! 3)Can Sheridan open up the playbook more after reflecting on year one and having a different off season? He will have three 4 star QB's in the room. 4) With the new transfer rules and eligibility- Who stays and who goes? Go IU
  20. Without any doubt they will. I got to beleive these "young" coaches understand what opportunity Allen has given them. Also, got to beleive, as much as Coach W is getting credit, as he should, he is an extension of Allen's defense. Under Allen, IU will always emphasis defense in recruiting, coaching, style of play. The entire staff needs to be retained- they all want to be here, have bought into the culture, and are talented.
  21. Anyone know why Baldwin didn't play? Didn't see an injury list. Also didn't see James again. Just curious
  22. I'll tell you one thing - Open up the playbook for Tuttle. He is the real deal. Tough as nails, great touch, puts the ball where it needs to go. All around solid, tough play. Great job!
  23. Watching the Illinois Baylor game, baylor has key players who were transfers, I think. IU won a championship with two JUCO kids. Can be a good get and sky isn't falling. However, you got to get impact kids when on the market.
  24. Here is a name from the past...Sean Kline had a good up and under move. Like that as well. Now it is all about the drop step, or step and jump and go up. Hook is coming back
