  1. I graduated with about 750 or so. By the time my youngest sister graduated nine years later, her graduating class was literally double the size.
  2. This was the text I sent a buddy of mine when it was announced. I was never thrilled with the hire. But then there was promise early on and I had a lot of fun last season especially. This season wasn't great, the few good wins happened too late to matter, and recruiting is a real concern. But letting that upset me the way it has some on here does no one any good. It's very easy to still be happy when good things happen for the program, like some of these recruits we're about to land, and to hope for a successful coming season.
  3. Call him Mack if you can't remember Mgbako. Or just learn Mgbako. It's six letters. There's a basic level of respect that goes into learning someone's name. This weird defense that you can't be bothered to do so reveals the disrepect inherent in the nickname. No, I don't think Mgbako would like being called "Taco" to his face, even a little bit. You can disagree, but as long as there's any question about it, let's err on the side of being kind, shall we?
  4. Agreed. It's weird that posters on here use a nickname for one of our own players based on possibly the lowest point in a young man's life. That's something you'd expect to read on a rival's message board - GBI or H&R - not here on HSN.
  5. Happy Opening Day to all who celebrate! My first game was pushed back to tomorrow.
  6. Galloway and Leal were injured to close the year. Ware is going pro. Gunn, Banks, and Sparks are transferring. Newton is redshirting. You've got just five scholarship guys left, and two of them are out of eligibility. A few extra reps for Cupps, Reneau, and Mgbako (assuming he doesn't go pro too) isn't worth it. And I say that quite apart from any recruting needs. Even with a full class, I don't think there'd be a point to playing in the NIT with this roster. When the loss came, it would be just one more chance for fans to be upset, and we've had enough of those already. Let the season end.
  7. A familiar name officially enters the portal. Malik Mack. Imagine if he plays here and both Reneau and Mgbako return. Name chaos!
  8. He posted a thank you message on Instagram. Definitely sounds like the enjoyed being a Hoosier.
  9. I agree. Those first round exits are embarrassing, but also just one game in a season where they earned a 2 seed and a 3 seed. A championship, two other Final Fours, and three other Elite Eights is impressive work. Villanova, North Carolina, Duke, UConn, Kansas, those are the only programs with comparable results, and all have suffered early tourney exits or outright misses as well. The only knock against Calipari is he perhaps could have done even more with the NBA talent on hand. But only a small handful of schools wouldn't trade for his actual results, and Indiana sure isn't one of those schools. Scoffing at Kentucky's success demonstrates an impossible standard for any Indiana coach, because it means you're asking for, like, prime Krzyzewski. If the next hire gets anywhere close to Calipari's Kentucky results, especially if they hang even just his one banner, it'll be a home run.
  10. The team went into the stands to celebrate, like they did two years ago. What a shot by Rich Janzaruk.
  11. Money. Even after she was iced by whatever *that* was.
  12. That call on Sydney was as bad as the Samford block on Kansas. Absolutely anticipation.
  13. OK just throwing it away repeatedly at the end. And if they want to foul Scalia to force free throws, that's perfectly fine with me.
  14. Every women's game there are at least a couple calls that just baffle. We just had like three of those back to back.
  15. The total lack of perimeter scoring feels so uncharacteristic. Going to need something from more than just Mack and Parrish. Hoping Sara or Yarden can get it going. They're due
  16. Remarkable that Indiana can have a top fifteen women's team for four or five years running now, with stars and award winners on the roster, and we still get misogynistic comments like this on IU message boards.
  17. Payton Sparks back to Ball St. Makes sense.
  18. Why does everyone on Purdue have the same unfortunate chin beard? Is it contagious?
  19. This is the first time Shaka has made it to the second weekend since his Cinderella run with VCU. That was 2011.
  20. This GIF really is the perfect encapsulation of the Tom Crean era. It gets posted regularly by Purdue and Indiana fans alike for a laugh, and everyone's too focused on his goofy behavior to notice we're up nearly 20 on our rival well before halftime.
