  1. Might be as simple as getting a starting or more prominent role at Cincinnati.
  2. We need roster spots. All signs pointing to us adding to DL. I’d say multiple guys. We’ve probably got money lined up for the best mid major guys with production.
  3. Could easily see him to 36-37% with progression. More importantly he’s dynamic and creative.
  4. In one of his pressers, he named four new backs as doing well and then referred to being impressed by the “new guys.” Also said he was pleased with the group. Impressive statement because he’s demanding and prickly in a great way. Also said McCulley needs to pick it up.
  5. Wow RIP. Just saw him giving condolences on Isenbarger a few weeks ago.
  6. Malone can stretch the floor at his size. Not super athletic but big with good shooting form.
  7. @Andrew and @DC2345 is Blazi out of the mix? Did we offer? If you Google him and see his social media he sure doesn’t seem locked in. I could see him scaring coaches off. We have no idea how he is in a meeting. If he gave me a flighty vibe, I’d pass. But if he seems serious, the athleticism could be interesting with maybe a redshirt.
  8. If I’m Conwell, I’m thinking I am starting at IU. Woody would love him. Tough kid and will go get some boards too. Competitor. Recruit like Knight. Get the right talent and have them compete. He had Edwards, Jones and Meeks and still brought in Reynolds, Greg G., Pat G and Leary one year and then Bailey. Cignetti is doing it. We have like 7 fairly proven running backs and more receivers. Battle it out and let’s go.
  9. I like how the dad eschewed AAU ball so he could play with older guys.
  10. That’s a team built to win. Would love to see Humrichous in there.
  11. If you look at the long game, going hard in the portal speaks volumes for the attractiveness of the IU job. Infrastructure is laid out. This is the opposite of what Calipari was complaining about at Kentucky. It makes the IU job appealing and Dolson knows how to play that. All the other coaches see this.
  12. I’ve got confidence that Dolson will have a more proactive approach and won’t get caught with his pants down. Get the money lined up to go big and have back channel discussions with plans laid out on a series of targets. He’s got time to get this right.
  13. I can’t say I’ve studied Pope but he has a good reputation and maybe he will be good for them. They need true roster and team building. This experiment that Cal was following was obviously not working. It’s nice to see their egos knocked down a few pegs though. A guy like Oats there would have been scary.
  14. This isn’t a Purdue board. Go take a vacation. This BS isn’t welcome here. Have some self awareness.
  15. lol. And that did not end well for the drill instructor!
  16. Fine with me. I don’t know if bridges were burned but why let him fool you twice? I could see them moving on. It’s not like we don’t have other options in sight.
  17. I am with you. I would like to see more emphasis on skills in our recruitment. You need complementary talent. This is not a shot at Woody but something I feel IU has lost for 20 plus years: being savvy with in-state assessments. Athleticism and measurables are great and you need some of that. But really good scouting involves a deep dive into understanding the talent, projecting them, looking at skills, and building a roster of complementary players. We’ve got to do a better job looking under the hood, understanding a kid’s makeup, motor, toughness. These are all hallmarks we’ve got to return to IMO. This is a program issue, not a Woody issue. You have to look at your built in advantages and find inefficiencies in the market in recruiting. Indiana has better high school coaching and competition. Kids play in front of 10k like it’s nothing. Indiana develops sound kids who are skilled, can shoot etc. We keep launching teams without those attributes. Not saying we need a small and unathletic team of shooters. But look at how many mid major players come kick ass at the bigger levels. Two started for Connecticut. Take some of those guys and match them with the Wares and Rices etc.
  18. Rabby was on Hoosier Hysterics a week or two ago. Said he saw Conwell in high school and thought he was pretty good. Was surprised he was being overlooked at the time when he talked to college coaches. We can correct course now. Conwell is a tough kid and rebounds like an animal for his size. You can easily run him in three guard lineups
  19. I read somewhere that he was sub 50% from the charity stripe. That would knock him down the list to me.
  20. Congrats on a terrific season and run.
