  1. I think most are now on board and enthusiasm is building. I will say this: Much like Bobby Knight was sick of losing to Purdue, I'm even more tired of being more enthusiastic/optimistic in the off-season rather than during the season. I'm really eager to see that change!
  2. I didn't even think to try it via the website (doh!). I've watched via the IHSAA roku app for a number of years. I have no idea why the regional games required registration and payment via the app a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps it was because of whoever was supplying the feed?
  3. No OTA here in central Indiana. However, the IHSAA app on roku is carrying the games (at least the 1A game was on - hopefully the other classes will be too). So I'm happy about that. I don't know why the regional games required subscription to some service.
  4. So if you don't have cable or pay tv, you can't watch? That kind of sucks. I tried to watch some of the games a couple of weeks ago on the IHSAA roku app, but now you have to pay a subscription (smh). For taxpayer funded activities that they pay considerable money to advertise on tv and radio, they don't do much to encourage maximum exposure.
  5. Maybe a bunch of these guys will be deciding or narrowing their lists after this weekend. Being a holiday they'll likely be with family and friends and have the opportunity to talk with them. Once the dominoes begin to fall, you don't want to be the "he who hesitates is lost" guy.
  6. Imagine, if Carmelo texted/called a prospect in support of Woodson. Would Syracuse get hit with sanctions? LOL Knowing the NCAA, I wouldn't bet against it!
  7. Lol. I have one, albeit second hand. When LB was coaching the Pacers, a co-worker took his kids to a park on the N.E. side of Indy one Sunday. As they were walking , he noticed an attractive blonde lady (i.e. a "MILF"). So, being a major horn-dog he was taking in the view for a few moments until he was interrupted by a man's voice asking " Did you get a good look?". It was LB, and the lady was Mrs. Brown. 😳
  8. I feel this is a quality addition/retention for the staff. Also provides continuity in the recruiting process.
  9. Yep. Wasn't Chancellor Wells seated there frequently in the 80's?
  10. My hot take is that the writer was "pro-Larry Drew", likely because he (Drew) was a former Hawks player. Results be damned.
  11. Yep. I saw it referenced yesterday and thought it might explain some things. I don't know how much of a dream job it was for him - I'm sure he saw it as a great opportunity. However, thete was always a certain lack of excitement/enthusiasm from Archie. I don't remember ever seeing Mrs. Miller at games on TV. It could have just been his low-key demeanor and/or the contrast to Crean. IDK, but I definitely get a far greater sense of passion for the job from MW.
  12. He sounded like he will focus heavily on Indiana recruits, so yes.
  13. I'll add this: many expect TJD to put his name in for the NBA draft to at least get feedback. Now he has the opportunity to work with one of those very people who would be providing feedback. Not only to get the info, but to get help on making the required improvements.
  14. Absolutely. As has been said by someone else: making Matta the AADBO (or whatever it is), leaves 3 assistant coach positions available for it.
  15. I'd forgotten about the "last time" story. In a sense, I'd rather have Larry Brown - the man can teach the game. BUT, Larry has trouble keeping his hands clean. And he call Beilein "kid". 😄
  16. Another "but" is that Woodson has been a head coach, Howard - not so.
  17. I think most of have been assuming it was already in effect. Typical NCAA....
  18. I don't remember if it was an actually Keady comment or something someone said, imitating him, but "Play Hard!!" always made me laugh. But it was an accurate reflection of his coaching and his teams.
  19. Bad news: We didn't get our unanimous #1 choice. Good news: It sound like Dolson threw the kitchen sink at him and didn't just lock in on a mid-major and forego the grand slam possibilities. Also I can hate Boston and their basketball team even more than I did before. Finally, we got rid of the worst achieving basketball coach at IU in my lifetime. With the apparent effort put into trying to get Stevens, I'm hopeful there are backup plans that are going to net us a good coach. P.S.: Some were jokingly referring to Stevens as CBFS - is he now referred to as CBMFS? 😄
  20. Indeed, I'm agreeing with you. In almost 50 years of IU basketball we've really only had 4 ex-players sitting on the bench. Unless they bring a special talent to the staff, their previous affiliation is of little value. I think it is much more sensible to give preferential treatment to ex-athletes or students in administrative openings. JMO
  21. Yea. I'm sure I'll forget some, but I can only recall Dakich, Roberts, Cheaney, and Joby Wright being connected to the BB program. (Forgot Ahfeld) & Crews)
  22. Sounds like he's just checking out - had enough for now. Might be because the two reliable on here and BTB are away for a while (lol, so SS has nothing).
  23. Yes. I've been a bit perplexed by people saying they're surprised something hasn't leaked out. Whoever is providing info to the various insiders is evidence that leaks are occurring on our side (apparently these sources are trusted by the insiders so they aren't just some newly-minted twitter accounts). How accurate the info is is the question. No matter how this works out, it'll be interesting to what if any details of the process ever come out - probably very few, expecially if Stevens doesn't accept the offer.
