  1. It's like a 70s NBA game...no defense and lots of scoring...Iowa is at 48 with over 3 minutes to go in the 1st...
  2. Winwood is phenomenal. He was singing with the Spencer-Davis Group when he was 14, and co-wrote this classic at the tender young age of 18...
  3. Great list, but if Minute Maid Park didn't have a roof to retract, no one would go to Astros games...too hot during the day, and the mosquitoes would carry you away during the evening... I'm sure all of you know that's why the Astrodome was built in the first place... I'd replace Domed Stadiums with steroids...
  4. Or eating a Royale with Cheese while listening to Kool and the Gang!
  5. I think it'd be funny if Coach Woody messed with the media and said, "Starting lineup for Saturday...Durr, Stewart, Bates, Johnson, and Lander."
  6. Back when I lived in Chicagoland, there was a Bald Eagle that had, for some reason, nested near St Charles, Illinois...Couldn't hardly get down the road with all of the picture takers... Sadly, one of them got hit by a car a few years back...
  7. I think I used them when I lived in Chicagoland
  8. I love a nickname...I was thinking WC5 for short
  9. If the Windy City 5 are back... And if we play defense like we did against Purdue and Ohio State And if Trayce can get the upper hand on Marcus Bingham And if XJ can control their PGs We can win... Not real sure about the Kopp/Gabe Brown or the Stewart/Max Christie matchups...Those might hurt us...Of course we could go Race on Brown but that leaves a poor rebounder (Kopp) against a pretty good one (Hauser) and we HAVE to win the board battle...
  10. I think that all depends on what's happened in the interim...If there was physical "punishment" and Parker put in the effort, and if after a talk he and Coach Woodson are on the same page, then I'd start him...Hey, you made a mistake, but I still believe in you...That might go a long way toward breaking him out of his funk... As you said, though, I would make it clear that all chits have been called in at this point...this is it...
  11. When Eric Clapton and George Harrison collaborated, it was awesome...
  12. I haven't...Netflix? The very first 45 I ever bought was "Eight Days a Week" with a flip side of "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party." I was 7. Paul and John were great songwriters, but most of my favorites are written by George...Including "What is Life?" (solo) which is my favorite song of all time...
  13. Deep cut rockin' tune from possibly the greatest triple album of all time...
  14. When: Saturday, February 12th 3:30 PM EST Where: Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan TV: Fox MSU Record: 17-6 (8-4, 4th in Big Ten) Results so far: The Spartans are coming off 2 consecutive losses, so I would imagine their practices have been intense. They don't have any one particular guy that can take over a game, but Gabe Brown, Malik Hall, Max Christie (freshman) and Marcus Bingham are all solid players if not a bit inconsistent. Christie is very talented, and will eventually be a star in this league. Joey Hauser has been better lately and has been hitting 3s at a 41% clip. Tyson Walker (transfer from Northeastern) is their PG. He averaged over 18 PPG for the Huskies, but has found the Big 10 to be a bit tougher. AJ Hoggard has been a disappointment but was a top 70 kid coming out of high school. The Spartans are tough on the defensive end, but on both ends of the floor they're inconsistent. Bingham can look like an All Big 10 player at times, but then will disappear. Gabe Brown is the one that gets them going though. If he's on, it can make for a rough night. You have to guard the perimeter on these guys as they are close to 40% from 3 as a team. Hopefully, we'll have all 5 players who missed our last game back. MSU likes to get out in transition, and if we're short handed again, they'll push the pace and wear us out.
  15. Love that one, but this one is my favorite Stones "Deep Cut."
  16. I know the McGowans kid will probably win the Big 10 Freshman of the Year, but I'd take Ohio State freshman Malaki Branham on my team any day
  17. Fair enough...I've tried to convert a few people, but the only one that fell for it was my youngest daughter...
  18. I love Dylan...what is it you don't like? The voice? Lyrics? Not picking at you, just curious (btw, you're not in the minority)... Listen to "Nashville Skyline" sometime...get beyond the first song (duet with Johnny Cash) and it's great..."Blonde on Blonde" is as well...
  19. First time I saw George play or even heard of him was at the Indianapolis Semi-State in 1969. By the finals the next weekend, he was must see TV. We took the Martinsville Reporter as a newspaper, and 95% of the content was local stuff. Little league scores, the Artesians, stuff like that...they'd squeeze in the standings and scores of whatever pro league was in season, but I don't really even remember that much IU content, much less Indy high school coverage...small town papers being small town... I guess if the Old Man had taken the Indy Star, I could have broadened my sports horizons...
  20. I love Coach Woody, but are you trying to tell me he's never sampled a Big Mac? 😉
