  1. Just a quick message of appreciation to Newton and Cupps. They could have easily taken the portal route but seem genuinely engaged in bringing talent to IU. Appreciate you guys and hope you ball out next season!
  2. That Washington State - Arkansas game must have blown peoples minds šŸ˜‚.
  3. True. After the top 10, it looks very arguable. Oregon state? I may be missing something maybe from the 1940s. Or Iā€™m just clueless which is certainly possible.
  4. I am impressed with what I see. Very smooth, looks to be able to create his own shot, smooth stroke. Iā€™m sure he misses some of those fadeaways, but if he is consistent on those, tough to stop.
  5. Well, you must know a lot more than I do about what he gets at IU and what every other university in the country could have offered. Whatever the reason, I am glad he will be a Hoosier.
  6. I think itā€™s awesome he is back. It will help bring in some high level perimeter players knowing there is a serious inside scoring threat. Just my opinion, but Malik could have gone literally anywhere. Woodson just needs to get a high level supporting cast, and figure out how to use them.
  7. It appears that way, since we can offer both and we still have 0 commits at this point. But I understand your point, things will apparently plan to buy a team soon.
  8. Me too. Not sure why, but have always kind of paid attention to DePaul and hoped it could get going again. Surprised a Chicago pipeline of some sort canā€™t result in a decent team. The good ole days with Dallas Comegys and Tyrone Corbin.
  9. I do apologize if this has been floated, but the last 24 hours has been hard to keep up with. As far as I know, Woodson has not been extended. So his contract has 3 more yrs. Clearly not ideal for recruiting HS players. If I were AD, I would release as much NIL as possible to help Woody go out on a high note and pony up to get the coach in waiting on board now, like May. could we pay May enough to come as associate head coach and wait a year or 2 and also have Woody be accepting of that? just trying to build some hope here
  10. Exactly, I think those 2 being involved initially gave everyone a level of comfort with the plan.
  11. We are saving visits but now we visit, I have learned no indiana commits for Woodson in 3 yrs, dominated by NW, PSU and Nebraska, the ā€œhumpā€ is way too big of an issue, hearing a 4th year is ok with forced asst coach changes or a GM to ā€œhelpā€? (Where does this happen) Goodness, if our admin canā€™t see this writing on the wallā€¦..but maybe I am just a frustrated fan.
  12. This is so true, and exactly why I was so disappointed in the Syracuse loss. I felt that team had enough of everything to go far, maybe win it all. unfortunately we were confused on the first offensive possession. Sorry for the trigger of opportunity lost.
  13. The whole discussion about the fan base being the problem for IU just drives me crazy. It hasnt missed a shot or made a turnover ever. I think the fan base is the one thing that has been good the last 20 years. Without it, we are DePaul right now.
  14. Some talented shirt creator needs to develop some IU swag that depicts this infamous ā€œhumpā€ we have been trying to get over for several years.
  15. It isnā€™t time to fire Woodson yet. This year has been unbearable so far, but it isnā€™t over. Clearly there are things that need to get better. When hired, I remember him commenting about his unique use of the ā€œ3 ballā€ and commenters were talking about his 4 out style of play. Maybe I have missed it, but havenā€™t seen either yet. Also, I think most of us fans would be good with the current record if we could do the basics, like rebound, defend, and minimize turnovers. And maybe have a decent offensive approach. Coach needs to step up on these things that have nothing to do with shooting ability and fans will notice it. it may be too late for the tournament, but hopefully he addresses these basic things soon for the sake of his job and the program.
  16. A high school buddy of mine and fellow IU grad ended up in chapel hill for his career. His young son battled cancer for several years before passing about 10 yrs or so ago. During his fight, Montross volunteered and even MCā€™d at community events sponsored by the organization they developed to fight cancer in that area, well before Eric himself was diagnosed. Apparently he was a great guy, Rest in peace big fella.
  17. With X healthy we can be good if we figure out 2 thingsā€¦.confidence and playing both sides with aggression. This team has athleticism, they are all good, but for some reason there isnā€™t that confidence and killer instinct. Not sure how that develops, but the talent is there. Just my opinion.
  18. Your last paragraph really hit home for me. Maybe itā€™s just me, but his dying is a little easier to bear knowing that he came back, hung out at assembly hall, reconnected with IU, etc. like a silver lining so to speak. At least that happened before he passed.
  19. Not sure what time we find out, but it would be massive to win this battle. If we donā€™t, I still like what this team has and what could yet be added. We should be very grateful for the current players and staff, next year will be a good one regardless of tomorrow! Go Hoosiers!
  20. This is from the portal update website. Are these just predictions or actual updates?
  21. A rebound would have been a quick to anyway. I get the double team tho.
  22. Not sure whatā€™s up with bates. Time for Gunn to get a chance. TJD is either playing too nice or just wore out. Single coverage against a frosh could be an easy up and under instead of a lazy hook and block followed by a 3 point dager.
  23. This team has started to gel, it was an ugly game but fun to watch. We hung in there on the road, and put us in position to win and did it. Proud of these young men!
  24. absolutely. And representation of the BIg 10 in that list speaks to the difficulty of road wins. Along with the refs of course.
  25. It caught my attention that he seems to have a quick release to be comfortable shooting under pressure from perimeter. He is a bit more athletic than Kopp, athletic enough to get to his mid range shot, which seems to be a strength. Love a wing player that is good at posting up, and his makes rarely hit the rim. After the past 10+ years of shooting woes, I would be glad to see him as a Hoosier!
