  1. I have thought that brooks would one day be a Hoosier, and thought a transfer last year was the time. Like others here, Don’t see it now though with this roster.
  2. There have been many good shooters since, but jay Edwards is the first to come to mind. Silky smooth, Looked like everything was going in.
  3. This is the truth. I watched leal miss 2 at the end of first half and TJD miss both on 2 occasions maybe. just blows my mind. We have the best record for “could have won” games.
  4. Have to admit I wasn’t very surprised losing this game…probably apathy unfortunately. Shouldn’t be a loss for IU any year, especially with a new coach at PSU. We need to have a junk yard dawg, aggressive mentality on both ends. I just don’t see it. Getting out rebounded by 10 and lower shooting percentages at all ranges will lose. These kids need to get aggressive. Woody deserves some time, obviously he knows hoops. Hopefully we make the tournament but a lot has to improve quickly.
  5. You all are feeling the same as me so this is basically me trying a form of self healing. What did we just witness? At half I half joked with myself saying this will end up a close win. Dumb not to expect a loss. I remember Woodson demonstrating proper finger roll form and thinking there are other issues going on here. Man, that half was bad. Syracuse S16 bad, IPFW bad? Gotta be close.
  6. Good post. While I would not make a statement like this, Woody has lived the basketball world at a much higher level than me. Also, I’m not sure of the context of that quote, but we all know he is smart enough to play who earns it.
  7. Recorded the game, couldn’t watch live. I was watching my son’s small Christian school and their opponent drill 3 after 3 and wondered why the heck IU has struggled so long at this while following the board during the game. A few comments watching later 1. Love seeing fife on our bench 2. Love the focus on ally oops, including several out of time out sets 3. Coach needs to figure out how to maximize use of Kopp and Stewart. Those dudes have the skill to win games. 4. Tamar can be a pro…pretty quickly. 5. Again, fife on our bench 6. Rob P and Kopp I think are the ones that can dictate this season. They perform consistently well, gonna be a fun season.
  8. Kansas would be great, Iowa State not bad. I have wondered about West Virginia as a potential on occasion. Baylor would be nice, but I am not sure about them, I don’t know much about the school itself if it fits a bigten type model.
  9. I remember that new haven game like it was yesterday. Having been on the court up by 1 with a few seconds left. Embarrassing to admit how often that loss crosses my mind 30 years later. All due respect, that whitko team was a well coached and a great passing team. Much more than just nicodemus.
  10. I just can’t give Dolson enough credit. I’m not trying to get the cart before the horse, but man, what a great hire that few saw coming. High level ball is all about the NBA. And Woodson is leaving no stone unturned. I am loving the next 10 years. Finally, the admin just may be smarter than the boards!
  11. Many things caught my attention, but I was impressed at the end when AJ started giving advice and Kopp, unprompted, starting taking notes and then summarized the advice back to AJ.
  12. Trying to post a video of Guyton interview with Kopp. What a great interview and what an impressive young man! Hopefully this works, it’s well with the 44 minutes.
  13. Yes sir. I’m certain we all know we are in a far better place. And you are spot on with Dolson, Woodson is the hire, and he saw it before anyone even dreamed it.
  14. Just my opinion, Archie will be back in power 5 hoops in due time. He’s not a bad coach at all. His Offense frustrated the hell out of me from day 1 and those early beat downs to iPfw and ISU put him on notice in my mind. But he isn’t far away. A normal FT % last season and he is still coaching IU. I think he will adjust both sides of the ball and be just fine. If he doesn’t adjust, well then, he’s a millionaire just as well, just not one coaching high level hoops.
  15. I was thinking the same, though it sounds like he is set on leaving. He would be perfect in what I understand Woodson wants to do, long rangy players, who can sink the 3 ball, guard multiple positions. He can also defend much taller guys with his length (remember he did well against Luka).
  16. Whaaaat? Really wonder did Marquette’s search go like this? Will the Texas search be this insane? good lord
  17. If one of these, I’m not sure why but Lewis really catches my attention. But man, that Woodson is one charismatic SOB. That would be interesting too. regardless, I believe guyton needs an asst role on whatever staff, that dude connects all of us. Even when Stevens accepts.
  18. Hoiberg...I feel I have done my fair share of time wasting trying to keep up with this Coaching search, but this is the first I have seen this mention. And I don’t mind it. Unfortunately for the mayor, the Senator will get it (yep...Stevens)
  19. Yep, his offense is shredding Illinois and one of the top defenses in the country. Impressive to watch
  20. Long post warning! Sorry i watched the round table with guyton Las, Hillman and haston. The former players are frustrated that the storied program they played in and helped develop has fallen so far. Also, it seemed they feel almost forgotten, and not really part of the program. That is why they were pushing an IU guy to re-establish the culture. but Las also wanted a coach with power 5 success. Not many, if any IU guys Exist with power 5 success. beard may help please and reconnect the knight era players, but I’m not sure his style is cutting edge as being sought By dolson. musselman has no IU ties, but has an attractive style of play and the personality to engage The fan base and ALL former players (not just knight era). I also think he will be very creative in the potential changes with transfers and $ for college players. At this point I think musselman with guyton and maybe Cheaney on his bench would be great for the program. Thanks for reading! And I am thankful for this forum to help keep me interested in our beloved program over the past few years!
  21. Yesterday was tough, but if I remove my beloved crimson glasses, Stevens to IU makes little sense to anyone not a diehard Iu fan. Celtics tradition far exceeds our rich tradition, and he is at the coaching pinnacle. Even if it doesn’t last long in Boston, he will be highly sought after by a contender. I also wondered the last few days if the uncertain future of college hoops played a factor - change in transfers, getting paid for likeness, all seems like additional hassles beyond the recruiting grind. (I do think Musselman will absolutely thrive in the new setting however)
