So my question is if it’s announced does he quit Boston immediately or finish the season?
I would think Brad would want to get here sooner than later - probably by April. Or at least somehow announce it and get an assistant in to run the recruiting for now.

Wella wella wella welcome back! Never thought Dolson would have the Skillz to pay the Billz! But wow!!
I thought Archie was getting another year. As ugly as it was. But only way Dolson makes this move, given the financials, is if he had a big dawg ready to go ... Stevens or Beard basically. And there’s way too much smoke around Stevens now. Unreal.
I actually liked Arch. Recruiting hurt him in the end. He’ll bounce back and learn from his mistakes - especially when he gets to a big time job again.
But the thought of Lord Stevens here. Wow.

If Baylor doesn't start getting back to how they were playing they could be beatable. I am wondering if Baylor loses to Purdue in the sweet 16 do we take him off of our coaching list.
No. That pause jacked them.

Tough rotation to crack. We didnt throw very many pitchers this weekend.
In a normal year, would he be a weekday starter or weekday reliever?

Has Reese Sharp played? I don’t think he played last year either. Dude got drafted - I’m surprised he hasn’t even found an inning (unless I’m missing something from this weekend).

Iowa was up 42-28 at the half. OSU is on a 14-4 to start the second half and the score is 46-42
Iowa and Butler winning today have to help IU, right? If IU can get two of next 3 - will be interesting.

MSU off to an IU start...down 11-0 to the Twerps.
If MSU loses ... This could go one of two ways for IU ... MSU finally came back to earth with a lot of games in a handful of days and IU has a chance vs them ... or MSU takes this loss out on IU and beats Hoosiers by 20+.
MSU also had two Michigan games after IU - so hopefully they are looking past the Hoosiers

Hearing some chatter on Ayo from Illinois this morning. Might be out. Sissoko had a flagrant vs them on Tuesday. Can't confirm anything but broken nose sounds likely.
I can’t stand Illannoy, but you absolutely hate to see this for them and Ayo. Brutal break. Hopefully he’s OK and 100% tourney time (unless IU plays them Round 2 of B1G tourney).

I’m not second guessing any of this staffs decisions, but the schools IU is going up against for Gunn and this kid are a bit underwhelming. That means little, but just an observation. Maybe Archie and crew and spot these underrated kids like OurMaan Franklin and develop them into studs.

We held him to 10 and still lost in OT
And had 85 chances to win. They are better than IU, but not a F4 type team like some have hyped. S16 at best, unless they get a 13 seed Cinderella or something to get to E8.

Just a general comment from this IU fan. For the life of me can we please stop saying Underwood at Illinois is building a good program? Half his fan base wanted him fired last year after losses to Miami and Missouri.
The only reason they aren't battling Maryland and Northwestern for records this year is because Ayo was A)not developed enough to still get drafted B) Covid hit and C)Kofi wasn't developed enough or D) Covid hit...
Underwood is the recipient of some very lucky times....but please don't anyone think he's developing a program. Antigua went back to his ways. Got Kofi out of nowhere when the fanbase wanted him gone. When Antigua leaves again....Illinois will go back to the 6-14 ways.
PS...Underwood. Stephen F, Kansas St, Oklahoma St...and I can say 50/50 right now on when Illinois lands in trouble. The guy isn't changing his spots.
Rant over. Sorry.
Agree, but Curbelo and Miller look like solid freshman. He’ll hit the JUCO market. And also, he adjusted his defensive style. I hate Illannoy, but don’t think he’s completely terrible.
The way to beat ILL is basically stop Ayo from driving to his right. It’s so much easier said than done, but that’s the key. Force him to pass and let everyone else shoot. And Kofi is simply a good college player because he’s massive. That’s it. He’s average talent IMO.

So UM has played 10 conference games so far so if the try to make up ever game that means they have 10 left. It is like 24 days until the BTT starts so I don't see any way possible to make all of those up. You won't want to go past the Sunday before the tournament starts so that would be like 10 games in 21 days.
The fraud B1G will try to protect Mich and keep them as a one seed if they have any say in it. Sort of like O$U in football - they’ll work with Mich to see what they want to do. Mich will dictate and not the other way around.

The Garcia recruiting failure was the most disappointing of the CAM era for me. It was the first time I felt we had gone 100% out for a recruit and lost out. It also confirmed my growing doubts about the ability to successfully recruit highly ranked out of state players (sadly, nothing has removed that doubt for me).
They’ve since hired Kenya though. Does that give you any hope? He’s brought in Stewart thus far.

He’d probably wait and see who they hire. The new coach will try and keep him. No reason to speculate yet though. A lot can happen between now and then.
Yeah. Just getting my hopes up for an obvious fall.

Some speculation that Wojo’s seat is en fuego. If he is fired, I wonder if Dawson would consider leaving. He’s phenomenal.

Another thing we will.like about Gunn is that he shoots like 85 percent from the line
He’ll be 65% by the time he graduates here!

Heard it is pretty bad out there. Man now weather cancellation so to me I see no way of making all of these games up.
Agree. They’ll probably push the B1G tourney as a way for teams to get extra games and not make up the Covid/Weather cancellations.

We have a game tomorrow and we don't even have an Illinois pregame thread up yet.
I think the problem you run into is that once the coach loses a fan, none of the other stuff feels as important. The other topics have an "other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln" vibe to them for some. It is kind of why I have cut down on posting, not much to say at the moment.
One game every two weeks is getting old!

Even if it was some discipline issue or something, if Cross wants to come here, I’m guessing Archie will give him a spot. Archie needs talent and seems IU’s culture is pretty tight-knit, so good be a good place for the kid ... unless it’s a Dan Dakich drug/pimp issue.

7 ppg but 40% from 3...unless there was something off the court I’d think we should be interested. At 6’6” could play the 3.
if you start Stewart and Cross, your shooting dramatically improves.
Probably shoots too well for this squad.

Is expanding the field this year out of the question? From a COVID perspective and logistical perspective, definitely not ideal. But the committee will have their work cut out for them looking at number of games played.
Would they take a .500 team from the B1G that played 16-18 conference games or a 13-9 team from a much lesser conference that lost 4 games due to Covid (just example numbers)?
probably still obviously come down to who you beat and didn’t (quad wins/losses). Without any conference tourneys, no bid stealers. IF IU can somehow get to .500ish in conference and finish there, the win vs Iowa will look phenomenal.

We were one of the lucky programs that managed to schedule our max number of games and not have any non conference games lost.
I do wish the B1G would get a little creative and maybe move some games up, if schedules allow, to avoid layoffs and leave some room later for make ups. I know this isn’t ideal, but these are strange times.
I never thought about it that way, but good point about moving up games opposed to just keeping as is and cramming at the end. Otherwise the last couple weeks are going to be a mess.

It's time.... HIRE BRAD STEVENS!

You’re probably right. I feel like in some sports - say college FB - a coach may be headed somewhere- but they’ll allow him to coach a bowl game with his former team.
