It's gonna be Pearl. Dusty is the back up.

I will say this. It was nice to see IU win last night. That said I don't believe that game or any others will have any real impact on a decision. If Dolson can get a proven coach in the bag a move will be made. IU is about to be in recruiting purgatory because of Woodson's contract situation. He would need an extension to help that and that's just not happening.
He's gonna fit in perfectly here. Like Bobby never left.

The only thing that would slow Pearl down on accepting the IU job is not seem so eager that he would do for less money. The guy would move heaven and Earth to become the head coach at Indiana. Since most if not all of the grey area has been removed in college basketball i would take Pearl in a heartbeat.

Yeah, believe so.
This is going to be an almost complete rebuild out of the portal with Woodson. Indiana is run by morons.
The finest morons in Indiana.

What does this tweet show us?
That Woody does less with more than any coach in the B1G and it isn't even close. He's by far the worst coach in the B1G. It is not close. Archie was a lot better.

Knowing our luck he'll end up being the next Bob Knight. In reverse though obviously.

Style of play and things like that get discussed a lot in this thread, but the thing that has me the most nervous is recruiting.
We really needed a class of 3-4 HS guys next year including guards. We have one guy, who is awesome, but we need more. I love the moxie to go for the top guys, but when you miss on them who is your plan B? We can’t just go portal diving every year for 6-7 guys or always bank on getting a decommitted player. Gunn and Banks being misses, whether mis-evaluated or underdeveloped (I have no energy to debate which and I don’t care, both are bad) really hurts us going into next year. That’s two upperclassmen we should be counting on in their third year.
When Ya and Kenya said you have to work your way up to recruiting some of these guys (not the exact words but the sentiment) maybe he should have heeded that a little more.
We are all chips in on the portal to fill out a competitive roster. I hope for Woody’s sake, the program’s sake, and the fans’ sake he pulls it off. It’s not being contradictory of me to say I desperately want it to happen, but I have serious doubts it does.
With all my heart, Go Hoosiers.
There's a coach in southern Florida who desperately wants the job, currently has a top 25 team, and could literally bring his entire starting 5 to Bloomington next season like Coach Cig.
It's such a no brainer that even the Indiana administration couldn't possibly mess it up. We're gonna be fine fellas.

What did you want him to say. I'm a loser and sorry coach. I'm going to quit on these guys now for the good of the program?
No. Just say you will always do what's in the best interest of the program.

I've been sending money to IU every month since I graduated. I finally put a stop to it this morning. COMPLETE CLOWN SHOW.
Give Brad a blank check.
If he says no. Then just hire Pearl. Woodson is an absolute joke. Least amount of IU Basketball Ive watched in over 20 years. Does Dolson have any balls? I doubt it. He should go as well.
Supposedly Carl Cook is a big Woody fan. I have no idea why but that's a huge roadblock if true.

As of right now, the coaches expect they'll be back and they expect the head coach to return.
There's a lot of reasons for this (doesn't mean anyone has to like them).
But, the vibes aren't nearly as high as they once were. (Duh, no $h!t right?).
Go Hoosiers.
It's over. Only question now is when.

The Chris guy on BTB says according to Trilly Donovan IU has started putting out feelers to some coaches and agents.

Matta has done a fantastic job at Butler in his 2 recent seasons. However, he is not the guy for IU.
Give me Beard, Drew, May, or Schertz - hell I'd even take Pearl.
All of these are an upgrade over Woody. So many red flags.
Drew or Pearl should be the hire. Beard would kill it here but Dolson is too clueless for that.

Coach Mike Woodson Megathread
in General Basketball Discussion
Posted · Edited by dbmhoosier
They thought they had Stevens in the bag last time. Weeks of discussions occurred. When the deal fell through they panicked and it gave Quinn the perfect opportunity to slide in his guy. Archie gets one more year if not for Stevens. They were caught off guard.
