If it’s okay with everyone, I’m going to post a thought about the Louisville game. It was amusing to me to see how good IU’s defense looked when they switched to zone. We talk about roster construction being poor, but outside of a couple smaller guards this roster is actually built well to play zone. They stopped those high pick and rolls and kept them off the offensive glass. I’m curious to see if IU plays more zone this season, especially since it seems like Woodson would rather not.

It’s hilarious how much it cleared out after the first game. We moved up to the 10th row of the 100 level

Louisville looks better than us. Tomorrow might be a rough game no matter who IU plays.

Man, I hate that part of me is starting to agree with you. I love how Woodson had unified the fanbase and honored the legacy of IU basketball. However, this roster construction is really ugly. Mgbako is a 4, Banks is a 4, Walker should never play, and we don’t have enough good guards that can run the offense and/or hit any sort of open shot. Defense looked better at times today, but it’s just been a really frustrating team to watch at time. I don’t know what to think.

How many refs have money on UConn? Spread is +10.5 and calls turn into bs whenever IU cuts it within 8. I don’t understand the officiating at all.

I will gladly take being down by 7 at half. Refs have been absolutely atrocious, just started to benefit us near the end. Pleasantly surprised how many IU fans are here too. Great atmosphere

Buddy of mine and I are traveling up to NYC for this game. Kind of happy to go into it with low expectations. Gonna be as loud as I can rooting for IU

Mgbako is playing much better. Nowhere near perfect, but man does he have a ton of potential. I’m excited to see him get more comfortable

IU looks so much better so far. Mgbako looks more comfortable and we’re seeing a bit more of what this team could look like. Love this start.

This team is going to be frustrating to watch. We have a cheat code in Ware, a supposed knockdown shooter in Mgbako, and a ton of size and athleticism and yet Ware should get the ball more, Mgbako isn’t playing nor getting shots, and our perimeter defense is so bad.
