  1. I think we take three bigs. One to replace Ware, one to replace Sparks, one to replace Walker. With that being said if there is a dude who can backup the 3 and the 4 I’m totally fine with it but we need someone who can score because Reneau hasn’t proven he can stay on the court and while Walker was serviceable we struggled scoring when him and Sparks were in together. Also, his position in Woody’s offense had lots of 3 point chances so we need to be selective and get someone who could should the 3 pointer well enough.
  2. But what recruits do we have coming in for next season? Also no one this year proved they were really ready to replace Scalia or Holmes. I understand Holmes backup isn’t terrible but there isn’t much parity in the womens game so if you want to keep advancing beyond sweet 16 you have to bring in some top experienced players. Kentucky is a perfect example.
  3. Yeah I hope she gets a transfer portal player to replace Scalia and to replace Holmes. I’d love the girl from holy cross who had one year of eligibility left and just had 19 vs Iowa. She shoote 40% from three
  4. There is so much talent in St. Louis that if he is a good recruiter and gets some of that rich Catholic money then he could have success. The stadium is nice where SLU plays but I think he would need upgrades to the facilities.
  5. To me Conwell is the number 1 target if he hits the portal but with that being said does he go with the coach to SLU or does he go for high major like IU or Purdue? Wonder if he grew up an IU fan if so IU would probably be his dream school.
  6. When you’re good at being a used car salesman but bad at X’s and O’s the new way of doing things really exposes you as a coach. The only way he will have future success is if he legit brings in an offensive coordinator type assistant coach and lets them strictly implement the plays.
  7. The more I hear Jay Wright speak in studio the more I want IU to go after him as a coach.
  8. Doesn’t matter because Woodson won’t promise him playing time like he wants. I’m sure whoever Kentucky hires if Cal is gone will be a homerun hire.
  9. CMW would adjust his defense when his team wasn’t figuring it out. He doesn’t adjust things to fit his personnel. He’s an NBA guy where it’s man to man switch defense and ISO offense. Here is two problems with his stubborn thought process. 1. A lot more NBA players stay more than 1-3 years so it’s easier for them to learn defense he runs, the players are typically much higher level of players than what he will realistically try to teach at college level, he will always have lots of new players with how he’s doing things who can’t learn his defense quick enough. 2. With his inside out offense the guards in the nba can make shots at a lot higher of a clip than what we have. He has to stop coaching like an NBA coach if this is going to work
  10. I just don’t think he’s nearly as explosive. Trayce dunked in two games as many times as Reneau has in two years. He’s unfortunately just never going to be athletic and why he can never play the 5 and be a shot blocker. His motor also has to change but I really am glad he’s back because he does some really good things
  11. Yeah I know he was testing draft waters but I haven’t seen any mock drafts with him in it or if he is in any then it’s a late second round.
  12. All I was meaning was high volume shooters and we just don’t have room for that IMO for two of them unless they are making 45-50% from the field which neither of them are.
  13. Did he enter the portal? If so yes I want him too. He’s a stud!
  14. Honestly yes. There isn’t enough shots for them to be a combined 10-30 or 10-35 and also terrible on defense. Especially if MM and Reneau come back. You can’t have 3-4 starters who can’t play defense. Knowing Woodson he doesn’t want that either.
  15. To me you take Walker or Blackmon not both. They are same player.
  16. The problem is he is a high volume guy just like Blackmon from Stetson. To me you want to only bring in one high volume guy but he better be of the skill set of Caleb Love. Walker only had two games against high majors and one was Purdue where his shot struggled and he only had 12 points on 13 shots. Other game he had 20 pts but on 21 shots where he was 5-21 from the floor.
  17. Low chance it’s IU but not sure who else it would be.
  18. The two people I want most is Asbury from Queens and I haven’t checked but if he will enter or already has entered is Lanier from UNF. I know for a fact what UNF looks for in players and Lanier is someone we would 1000% want on our team.
  19. Defense doesn’t matter if you can’t score. Especially modern day game. Look at Virginia their foundation is built on defense not offense and it just doesn’t work anymore. I get what you’re saying but reality is Reneau isn’t going anywhere and if MM comes back he’s starting too. So we might as well get guards that can score. If we lose Reneau and MM we are in trouble regardless of their issues.
  20. If IU had Caleb Love and Dalton Knecht would you care if Reneau and Ware played next to each other? The reality is it didn’t work because we didn’t have shooters so teams sagged in or double teamed like Nebraska. If this year we go out and get the guy from Stanford and keep Reneau but then go and get proven shooters I think it’s a much more successful offense.
  21. Whats crazy to me is his shot is an easy fix and either his adrenaline doesn’t allow for him to in game action or the. Inches aren’t correcting it. To me it’s all in his legs. Coming around screens he over rotates his body and jumps to high. Then in normal jump shots again when he over jumps he misses. When he’s slow with his legs and body is when he typically makes it. I would consider his jump shot fluid and smooth and it requires him to physically be in line with the hoop. The rim needs to be right in the middle of his shoulders and his elbow needs to line up. When he speeds himself up it hurts all of the things above which for him is what creates his inconsistency.
