  1. I can agree with you on players, but not so much coaches. Isaiah Thomas, and Randy Whittman coached in the NBA, but no one would consider either of them a better coach than coach Knight, who never coached in the NBA. Pro sports and college sports are different games that require different skills. It's been proven time and again that because you are successful at one, it's no guarantee you will be at the other. I don't think a coach has to be successful at the professional level to be considered one of the greats,
  2. So, how is this different from college football and the NFL, and where does Nick Saban fit into that equation?
  3. I think I figured it out. Somewhere in the vetting process Brad let it slip (like he did in his presser) that he is a Patriots fan. No one wants that crap in Indiana, and Dolson rightfully rescinded the offer.
  4. I don't know Brad Stevens, never met the man. I have no idea how he thinks, but when I read the comments to the tweet from the "voice of the Celtics" they were quite negative. I know Twitter isn't necessarily representative of a fan base, but there was an alarming number of folks who wanted him to go. Compare that to the IU fan reaction, and I'm not sure I understand why you stay somewhere you are not universally wanted, when there are places you will be. Now he is in a situation where those that wanted him gone will be upset he didn't take this opportunity, and those voices will grow louder with every loss. I just really don't understand this.
  5. Franklin Bradley Franklin Stevens BTW, the shutdown was a good thing. I learned I actually have 3 kids, not 2, and the dog that I thought died is still here!!
  6. It was sarcasm Scott. The Fire Archie topic seems to find it's way into literally EVERY thread on this board. I for one am over it. I do appreciate all of the Mods efforts to keep discussions on topic. My point was simply sarcastic. If I didn't convey that clearly I apologize.
  7. Which of the threads?? Luke Brown? Women's basketball or the actual Fire Archie thread? 🤣
  8. Soooo, anyone think the Rams dangled that package in front of the Texans? If Stafford is worth a former #1, two firsts and a third, what in the world is Watson worth? Is it gonna take three firsts or more?
  9. Thing is, with the lack of revenue due to Covid, I'm not sure the money trucks have anything in them. Universities are hurting, and buying out and then paying a new coach my not be feasible for many.
  10. I have not seen a game all year where I thought we were out coached. We may have had a talent disparity a time or two, but we were never out coached not even OSU. If the talent gap narrows as I expect it to, we are going to be a beast.
  11. Back in the day I used to get timeouts in the corner as well. 😁
  12. This quote from Booker's lawyer really bothers me. He doesn’t need to take a polygraph test. Look at the video.
  13. What has been underreported is if this event took place on private property. I have rather strong feelings about trespassers as one burned down the house (unoccupied at the time) on our family farm. I'm curious as to how some of you feel about trespassing, or whether it even matters in this incident.
  14. I really don't want to excuse bad behavior, but there are a couple of things here that do not make sense to me. 1) A group was meeting in the Hoosier National FOREST in the middle of the DAY to watch a LUNAR eclipse? I'm not an astrologist, but none of that makes sense to me. 2) I never heard the "N" word yelled. I did hear one of the people holding a camera try to bait one of the red necks into saying it though. 3) I never heard anyone call for a rope or a noose. 4) If you truly feared for your life, and were given the chance to escape the circumstances, would you turn back on your way out to confront your attackers again? 5) The always relevant "What happened before the cameras started rolling"? I will reserve judgement on this one. Lots of weirdness here. Lots of bad behavior. It brings to mind the phrase "Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life"
  15. Other new (to me) music from Bourbon and Beyond Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats Whiskey Meyers Lucas Nelson (yep, Willie's boy) and the Promise of the Real. Much to my surprise there really is some good new music out there.
  16. Then I found out they covered on of my all time favorite songs with an amazing spin...
  17. Last year, I discovered this band at Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville. Been on heavy rotation on my playlist ever since.
  18. I'm disappointed. I thought this was an IU board made up of IU fans. Yet, no mention of:
  19. Scott, you need to sack up son! Back in my day we didn't even have Covid19 or 15 or even 10. Rub some dirt on it and keep moving. Now, drop and give me 20 you candy ass!! I figured you would respond to that as well as anything else
  20. That seems a little ghoulish......
  21. My grandmother was a nurse at a small rural hospital in Illinois. Breese Il. to be exact. Its where she met Red Schoendienst who would visit his father there. She always told me Red was her favorite baseball player, not because she cared about baseball, but because of how kindly he treated everyone he met.
  22. Has anyone heard or read anywhere about how this virus affects smokers? Is a smoker at greater risk of dying? It seems a logical connection, but I haven't seen a single thing mentioned about it.
  23. I used to Taco Bell as well. Then I discovered real authentic tacos from a food truck, and taco bell has never been the same.
