  1. Just like wood floors in a house; straight parallel lines, with the grain, always overlapping what you’ve already sanded, never stop moving the sander while it’s engaged or you’ll create a divot. The guy in the picture was going at a slight diagonal, which could result in some scratches showing up once stain/finish is applied - probably not that big of a concern for a court, though it would be in a house.
  2. The important thing is that court has been erased from the surface of the planet
  3. It’s just one of the more popular and semi iconic bars. Nicks, Kilroys, upstairs, blue bird, the vid, etc are all more locally owned (at least originally) and synonymous with IU. upstairs is basically across the street from Nicks.
  4. That’s not how sanding wood floors works; it’s also not the same tolerance of flatness that smaller metal surfaces or machine work requires
  5. You call yourself a fan!? Jk (seriously though, it’s a bar on kirkwood on the second floor above some restaurants, hence the name)
  6. Not only that, but let’s not pretend that basketball and football players’ academic experience is in any way relatable to your average student’s experience. So much extra help and so many more resources that an average student doesn’t have. I’m generalizing for sure as there are plenty of athletes that move on into very successful non athletic professions, but this is a weak message board argument.
  7. This is just my opinion, and I have no inside info, but I think our administration has been much more aligned in making sports a priority since Whitten became president. Our problem with basketball lies within the outsize influence that some members of the BOT seem to have on the program.
  8. I’m not going to argue further. You’re not going to change my mind, and I’m not going to change yours. Last thing I’ll say is IU has 4 final fours and two titles since the last time Purdue even MADE the final weekend. They have 3 final four appearances all time, including this year.
  9. How does this disprove what I said? Yes, they’re the better team the last few years. They’ve still got a long way to go to reach the same prestige level as IU.
  10. They’re the best team right now, sure; they’re not the premier program. IU has four final four appearances, a championship game appearance, and two titles since Purdue last made the final four.
  11. It won’t bother me. 5>1 Also, while Purdue has been great the last three years and have been solid recently, it’s not like we’ve been a total doormat the whole time either. Their fans say things like “dusty banners,” but it’s their first final four since 1980, so I guess that argument is total 🐴💩 anyway. I guess what I’m trying to say is, should they win it all, it won’t be the end of the world. They’ve got a LONG way to go before they “eclipse” IU as the premier program in the state, and they also couldn’t win it without having literally the biggest player to ever play in the NCAA who is allowed to camp in the lane and elbow opposing players in the head every other possession.
  12. We will always be a blue blood; we aren’t currently an elite program, though. Also, I don’t give a flying f*** what Kentucky fans think about IU. We beat them 2 out of the last three times those cowards were forced to play us.
  13. I’m pretty sure they made block/charge reviewable this year. That isn’t to say they completely ignored that aspect.
  14. Yeah, we aren’t playing well, but sometimes teams are just on fire. This is live by the three, die by the three offense. Tonight, they’re burning up the nets, but there’s going to be a game in the near future where they’ll lose because of it. The key is balance. What is most effective is a blend of both these teams.
  15. Tominaga getting the star treatment. Blatant pushoff
  16. Free throw disparity keeping penn state in the game
  17. These things aren’t mutually exclusive. They can both be true.
  18. There’s no “out,” it’s just inside basketball
  19. Yep, an entire half and we attempted one three pointer
  20. I think most people’s problem with Sampson is the drugs and grades. As I recall, most of the team was failing most of their classes. Unless he turned that around, most of the team wasn’t going to be eligible if they continued on that way. Also, the phone calls and text messages were specifically what he was on probation for, so it wasn’t so much the acts themselves as it was the egregious flouting of them despite the probation. There’s no doubt he’s a great coach, but he deserved everything he got here.
  21. This just simply isn’t true. Ollie could shoot free throws.
