That’s some of the nicest things anyone has ever said on the interwebs. But honestly, do you think there’s anyone reflecting on the past 3 years who are past players/involved with Coach Knight era NOT flabbergasted by the product on the floor now? The intangibles demanded from that era are all gone.

Maybe next year we’ll do an opposites things. Only guards. 5 dudes all under 6’5’’.

The counter point may be, who can look at this and be grumpy and simultaneously willing to give a cool 10 million when it has continually led to meh. At some point the pockets may be tighter and tighter.

CMW was as surprised as anyone he was able to get him over the hump. He assumed under the current system he would fall out of the draft…

Not trying to derail but on the topic of player development…would JHS developed into what he did if X doesn’t have the injury? I feel like you could say CMW was forced to have JHS develop in methods outside of his preferred.

I’ll give you positive: Payton Sparks passed up being an all-conference player at the mere chance to contribute here at IU. He’s backing up one of the best front-courts in the country. He’s 100% effort. Came here for the love of the game. Maybe there is hope for the rising generation to still be in love with IU like the rest of us old farts.

Honestly the biggest problem in my mind is roster construction/style of play. I’m not sure which one is causing which but it’s really disappointing at this point. Talent (stars and McD all Americans) is there but it’s a hodge podge of parts so far.

We should be more like Arkansas. Mike Woodson needs to show more man nipple. Give the people what they want.

Beggars can’t be choosers. That being said, we need a scorer and a shooter with quickness. Generally that comes in the form of a guard but if we get a “wing” that can defend 2 through 4, I’ll take it. I’m really only concerned with perimeter quickness and shooting. Don’t love the idea of being post-oriented but as they put on the NIL moneys “IN CMW WE TRUST”.

Listen. I don’t know why you’re so excited about Coach Woodson and the program now. The portal is 1000+ players. Coach hasn’t even secured commitments from half of one percent of the portal. Disgraceful. Shut down the program. Give all the NIL money to women’s softball who by the way has won more games this year than IU men’s basketball even dared to play.

Listen, I’m trying not to panic but we haven’t won a game in over 2 weeks. Last year we went more than 6 months.

Basically players and coaches can’t have in-person visits. It’s business as usual really.

Didn’t much love his attitude in the IU game either. Not exactly a warm and fuzzy. Best of luck though. Maybe he will find success somewhere.
