  1. Not concerned. Very possible that the IU job would chew Dusty up and spit him out similar to what it did to Archie. Pearl would be the right choice, but his window is likely going to close soon because of age if it's not already. Will be interesting to see how Shrewsberry does the next year or two at Notre Dame.
  2. So, despite being ranked in the Top 3 in the country, the Boilers fall short of making the list.
  3. I can't speak to all of them, but for Kaufmann-Renn. what I observed was that Purdue was on him earlier than IU, and Painter did a much better job of building the relationship.
  4. Kaufman-Renn is playing in a rather large shadow of the soon to be 2-time National Player of the Year.
  5. It could be worse. I caught @bluegrassIU hiding out in the tree outside my bedroom.
  6. After studying our list of incoming recruits, I have no idea.
  7. My biggest gripe is Ware only 3rd team by coaches. I have not seen full teams, but that's a minimum of 10 players picked ahead if him. Not buying that at all.
  8. Let's not forget that just a few days before that speech the heavy rumor was that Leal and Galloway were transferring or 'retiring' as soon as the season was over. So, yeah, if the 17,000 people in attendance had been questioning his loyalty to Woodson and IU, he should be given a little leeway when he's trying to set the record straight. Maybe, 'there's a reason you're not coaches' wasnt the best thing to say. But, how many of those fans had spend the week spreading false rumors about Leal? He has a voice, used it, and IU fans have to take it if they are giving it out. And, boy have we been giving it out lately. And, as we have seen with Leal and Galloway, not everything we're dishing out is fair.
  9. 'Chill out' is a phrase used by every 22 year old in the world in every situation. It's harmless and meaningless. Woodson talking about 'true fans'? Yeah, that pissed me off.
  10. I see nothing in Anthony's quote that I have an issue with, and I am not on Team Woodson. It's a player defending his coach. One could argue Leal maybe should not have been giving a speech at all since he's coming back. But, since he had the opportunity, he should be able to share how he feels. I was at Juwan Morgan's Sr. Day, and he never even mentioned Archie. He thanked Crean, but did not utter the words 'Coach Miller' at all. THAT was much more of a red flag about the state of things than Leal coming to Woodson's defense. If anything, Leal has every right to be upset with Woodson that he did not get quality playing time earlier. We should embrace Leal's attitude, selflessness, and commitment instead of criticizing him for defending his coach.
  11. Did this info come from another site? The media formerly known as Twitter? Rabby? Tim Garl? The source goes a long way as to whether I'm concerned.
  12. I heard on the Radio this morning that if the Yanks signed Snell for 1 year at $30MM, it would push them up a Luxury Tax level that would cost them an ADDITIONAL $33MM. That's a total of $63MM, and that ain't happening.
  13. It's daily scoring and lineup changes. No head to head. Just season-long accumulation of stats. At end of season, top in each category gets 12 points, second gets 11 points......bottom in that category gets 1 point. Starting Pitchers are causing me the most angst. They have 2 'counting' stats in Wins and Strikeouts and 2 'performance' stats in ERA and WHIP. As you pointed out, if you put a starter out there to accumulate the counting stats against certain lineups, then you are putting the performance stats at risk. If you sit them to protect the performance stats, then you have no shot at scoring in the counting stats. I'm leading towards sitting both. Because of the week between the Korea games and the rest of the season, I still think they get the normal number of starts as every other pitcher. And, I truly don't want to start out getting in a hole in those two categories. I have no other players from either team, so there would be no good to offset the bad and i would have to stew on that for a whole week.
  14. @Seeking6 or anyone else out there play season long 5:5 roto style Fantasy Baseball? I'm playing this year for the first time in a long, long time and have a strategy question. No money is involved, but I am an intense competitor, and I don't want to do something dumb. So, here's my quandery. I ended up with both Joe Musgrave and Yu Darvish in my rotation. The Padres, or course, are scheduled to start the season in Korea against the Dodgers. I know nothing about the ballpark they will be playing in, but my natural suspicion is that it is probably smaller than the average MLB park. What I do know for certain, however, is that the Dodgers can hit and score runs, and it would not surprise me in the slightest if MLB takes a 'lively' ball to use over there. Both Musgrove and Darvish are scheduled to start in Korea. My question is whether I should start them or put one or both of them on the bench. For my fantasy league, the 5 standard pitching categories are in use. Wins, Saves, Strikeouts, E.R.A., and WHIP. I put the chances of either getting a win at below 50%. They, obviously, will not get a save. I will lose some strikeouts if I bench them. My concern is whether or not the possible damage to their E.R.A and WHIP will erase whatever benefit I would get from strikeouts. Yes, the setup may give both pitchers an extra start over the season, but the combination of small stadium, the Dodgers, and the possibility MLB wants to put on an offensive show has me leaning towards benching them. Against those odds, I don't want to sacrifice two categories for the benefit of one. Thoughts?
  15. Just realized the NBA season is still going on.
  16. You ever notice that Ahdick is an anagram of Dakich. Someone should let him know that.
  17. No. But I will if you can send me a little to help out with my alimony the next couple of months. I promise.
  18. @Proud2BAHoosier Some concerning news about Cole and his elbow. If it's bad, that could ruin the season before it evens gets started unless Rodon rediscovers his stuff, and that might not even be enough.
  19. I heard Luke Brown was granted citizenship in the Portal.
  20. You mean the story I just read about the entire population of Omaha being aliens and that they took control of Peyton Manning's mind when he visited the city in 2009 is not true! If I cant believe that, what can I believe?
  21. The perception of Indiana this season is going to require, at a minimum, three impressive wins, and I still say probably requires us to win the whole thing. Here's what we need. 15 plus point win in our 1st game, regardless of the opponent. Beat Nebraska and look good doing it. Beat Illinois. We cannot afford Illinois to lose before they play us. We need to have a W against them to have any shot if we lose Sunday. Hope Northwestern (possible) or Wisconsin (highly unlikely) can beat Purdue for us. Even if we beat the Illini, a 20+ point beatdown by the Boilers takes away all the brownie points earned earlier in the tournament. A run to the Championship certainly helps, but it is not surefire ticket to the dance.
  22. 4%. I just tried him on my phone. I did the grid on my laptop this morning.
  23. 92% from the line? He may have trouble fitting in.
  24. Did both Gallo and Leal say they were unequivocally coming back? Or, did they simply say generic things that make people think they are?
