    All,

We merged this original megathread and the Fire Mike Woodson thread. Many threads have been hijacked over the last several months with Woodson debate, please try to keep all of it inside this megathread from now on.

The Mike Woodson thread has now surpassed that of the immortal Moses Abraham as well as that of the nomadic Luke Brown.

At least here in the Indy area I haven't been able to watch all the Reds games. They are on the same channel as the Pacers so any time the Pacers play we don't get the Reds game.

I would not like that at all.  I have Direct TV and, in the Louisville market, we get both Pacers and Reds, but on different channels.

  3. I am totally into MLB this year.  There were several years in a row where I barely even watched the Reds.  Now, I'm watching any game, Reds or otherwise, that I can make time for.

I can honestly say the pitch clock and elimination of the shift saved baseball for me.

I watched the lasat 3 innings of the Brewers-Orioles, and the Os have some really good young talent...I know the Holiday kid gets all the hype, but they have a kid named Cowser that has some electric power...He cranked one out today...

I think they said the average age of their starting 8 in the field today was like 25 :o

Orioles have the best collection of young talent that we've seen in many years.

I’ve been wondering where he’s been as well (when it comes to posting on HSN). I’m friends with him on Instagram though and he appears to be doing well - traveling and enjoying his dogs in Brooklyn.

Just glad to know he's okay.   HSN, while an enjoyable distraction, is not important in the grand scheme of things.  I was concerned it might be something else.

The missus and I figured that if we were going to see Elton John on his Farewell Tour then it should be in London. So, we flew over for a long weekend this weekend.

INCREDIBLE show and performer. He hit all of the highlights - and the dude has a lot of them! You could tell he was pretty emotional on some of the songs. Their was a career retrospective montage during “I’m Still Standing” and it was like, “Damn, this dude has been on everything.”

Who else has been on Sesame Street, The Muppets, Soul Train, The Simpsons, Sonny and Cher, etc, etc.

I’m not sure there is a more important musical, pop culture icon still with us that spans that many decades and touched so many different genres. Definitely a concert highlight for me.

I was thinking about @Lostin76 today and realized I had not seen him on the board in a long time.  He was a regular in this thread.  His profile says he has not been on the board since 4/18/23.  So, this was one of his last posts. That concerns me a bit

And, while we're on the subject of people I have not seen on in a while, @mrflynn has not been on since early March.  Hope everything is alright there.

I’ll be happy to play the banner card again after we win one in this century. Until then I’m not throwing shade at anyone. We are a sorry program that hasn’t won anything in a very very long time. No B1G titles, No final fours, and no NCs.

I prefer to live life with tongue in cheek.  Life has thrown a lot worse things at me than the lack of RECENT success of my favorite college basketball team.  I'm not going to let that stop me from having a little fun at the expense of my rival, one who is a favorite of many of my family and friends

I'm asking when will Friedl be back?

They initially thought he was ahead of schedule, but after some tests this week, I heard he was not healing as fast as expected.  They did not specifically give a date, but my guess is that, based on the original expectation, it will be the 2nd or 3rd week of May before he is back playing.  Probably a rehab stint after that.  So, 3rd or 4th week of May seems reasonable.

Steve Jeltz...came up with a lot of hype, and hair like Darryl Jenks in "Coming to America" 🙂

I actually have a Steve Jeltz story  Growing up, my dad knew a guy who had season tickets at Riverfront, first row in the section at the corner of the dugout closest to the visitor on-deck circle.  My dad had already passed, but I was in my early 20's and mom and I were still able to get tickets a few times from this guy.   My brother, who was 11 years younger than me was baseball crazy and I made sure to take him to some games just like dad did with me.

Anyway, one of those games, the Reds were playing the Phillies.  Jeltz came out on deck and the lady behind my right shoulder started to yell encouraging words to Steve,  She had not done that with any other player, so I assumed she knew, or was related to, Jeltz.  I turned around and asked her how she knew Steve.  She was vague, saying something like the Phillies instructed family members and friends not to share too much information for their own safety.  Or, maybe she just thought I was a creep.  I ended up talking to her quite a bit during the game, but I respected her privacy and never pushed to find out if she was wife, girlfriend, sister, etc.

I maaaaaay get laughed at for this, but I am posting anyway to see how crazy I am…. Maybe desperate.

next coaching cycle I would put bill Murray’s son, Luke, at the top of my list to at least talk to/ do due diligence on. I was watching something last night, and Luke is the maniac behind UConn’s offense. All he does is watch basketball. FIBA, Europe, China, whatever. Anything. Everything. Took what he saw and developed their offense out of it.

or at least make him the highest paid assistant coach x2

Would make for some interesting matchups against Minnesota (Gophers).
