Well, this is the season in a nutshell….up by 17, and then blow it with turnovers and poor defense.

What is it with this team trying to close out a half on a positive note?

I may be wrong, but I think part of the problem with our recruiting is that we focus too much on 5 stars, and ignore guys like this. Maybe we’ll get to the point again where we have our pick of the “elite” talent, but we’re nowhere near that right now.

This is the type of guy that transfers to Wisconsin, Illinois or Iowa, and absolutely kills us.

Won’t matter, if Holmes isn’t healthy and at full strength.

They were lost without Holmes, and played with zero confidence, but the right decision to save her for the NCAA tournament.

As disappointing as this is, I’m more concerned that we may have a mass exodus once the season’s over. I hope I’m wrong, but this could just be the beginning of a complete rebuild.

It does suck, but that’s the world we live in today, and it isn’t going to get any better, so we have to adapt. I hate it, but there’s no going back, and the days of developing players will be the exception not the rule.

Like it or not, that’s the reality (NIL/Portal) of college basketball in today’s world regardless of the coach…get used to it. Nick Saban came out this week, and basically said that’s why he retired.

It doesn’t get much better than watching the Hoosiers win at Minnesota, and then tune into the Warriors game and watch TJD have an unreal performance!

Here comes the blowout…I’m switching to the women’s game on Peacock.

I can’t remember one game the entire season where we closed out the 1st half on a strong note.

Good point about the NBA….with a schedule of 82 games, a loss here and there is no big deal, so you move on to the next game. Unfortunately, you don’t have that luxury in college, and that may affect his decision making. We’ll see if he adapts next year assuming he’s back.

I didn’t say the last two years were a rousing success, but they sure were an improvement over the previous years. You have to remember I was around for the RMK’s three national championships, so I know what success looks and feels like. I’m as disappointed as most about this year’s results, but I also know things can change in a hurry in today’s game, so I hope the powers to be make the right decision about next season, whatever that ends up being.
