Just watch the games because today the first 10 seconds are just useless dribbling and not starting your offense right away. Also back then there were very little dribbling in the half court offense

The more missed shots the more the other team can get out and run due to long rebounds. Analytics is ruining basketball if you ask me. Maybe, maybe not. Long shots equal long rebounds which could lead to more offensive rebounds and more scoring opportunities.

You’re making a strong case for why eye witness testimony, particularly from a child, isn’t reliable evidence. Why does it upset you do much that I have a different opinion on what is considered good basketball. This thread was about forming a team from those 5 rosters. It was in your opinion and that what I did and you don't have to agree but don't need to get so upset.

To me what basketball is supposed to be is player moving and having a lot off the ball screens. The ball moves faster by passing and cutting over dribbling. To me it is a lot easier defending today than it use to be. You screen the ball you bring more defenders to the ball. It’s probably the way you consistently talk down to people due to their age. Or the fact that you think your memory as a child is somehow a valid piece of evidence when it’s objectively not.

Not trying to be a smart ass but how can people who haven't seen players play be able to judge them. Us older fans have seen all of these players play so we can be able to judge more clearly. It isn't just from memories because the last couple of years I have watched a lot of those older games. With being quarantined and out of work I had a lot of time to watch a lot of games. Look at 87 and 92/93 where there were a shot clock and a 3 pointer. This style of offense today just is not my cup of tea and makes it less enjoyable to watch. If you like it that is fine because everyone has different taste. To me it is a lot harder for a defender to have to chase around players going through screens. Alford never stood around and was constantly moving and coming off screens. Doing that for 40 minutes will wear down the defense. Of course, they claimed they were moving screens.

Pretty cool, I didn't ever get to see the 76 or 81 team in person but watched most the games. I was at the first game of the season in 86-87 against Montana St.. I went to a lot of the holiday tournament in Indy and a four of times in Bloomington. In 93 I went to the first and second round of the tournament in Indy.
