That is not that much worse than the Mariners. It took the Mariners having a 14 game winning streak going to the break to get over .500. Winker has also always been a very expensive platoon player who’s not very good defensively. That was my point about the roster because we really had 5 DH's in Winker, Moose,Votto, Suarez and Castellanos. I am just waiting until we can get Votto and Moose off the payroll. Build up the farm system where you can bring those players up to your roster or trade them for more proven players. It just gives your front office more options when you have great young talent. Hopefully in the next couple of days we can get a good package for Mahle. IU Scott
Just looked at the stats from some of the Reds players who left compared to their replacements. Suarez .230. 16. 52 Drury .272. 20. 59  Winker .226 8. 35 Pham. .240 11. 39  Castellanos .250. 8. 47 Naquin .246. 7. 33 So in conclusion I don't see how keeping the same lineup from last year would have made much of a difference. Also the first month of this year we played without India, Senzel, Castillo, Also the Reds have had the second most players on the DL this year. Right now they have like 18 players on the DL

Seeking6
At least the Cubs are off today. Getting tired of dugout hug watch. Contreras even said it last night. Getting tired of waiting. I know that Jed has to get the most he can but at same time what if Contreras took a pitch off the hand (throwing) last night? Just deal the dude who has given everything he can to the organization and be done with it.

5fouls
Soto deal could hold entire deadline hostage until it happens. Teams in running for him wont want to move assets until his trade goes through.

Good bullpens are a must in today's game... He was young, cheap, under club control for 5 more years, and was doing well this year... I guess McRicketts thought he might ask for a raise...
