Offseason 2022

Oh yes Hoosier fans. No worries. Our program is headed in right direction under Woodson. Fife Gone! Matta Gone! and Butler gets better for it. What we are left with is a bad culture full of apologists that makes excuses for bad decisions based upon world politics instead of a winning culture capable of winning at an elite level. The depths we have been at for 22 years! Go Cards!

You are a UL fan? Why is it a big deal for you then?

Do, or do not. There is no try.

You might try to always do the right thing, but do you always? Every single time? You’re human. The answer is no. You’ve had lapses in judgment the same as anyone else. Maybe you’ve had fewer than most, but there have been some.

Only law I have broken is speeding and Jay walking

I have basketball knowledge, and I do.

Do I know as much as some? Absolutely not. But I have some basketball knowledge, and I think the program is headed in a better direction.

Why would a 22 year old speeding, change that? The overreactions are cringe worthy. Shew.

I'm not sure how Matta going is a factor Woody can control. He was offered a high major head coaching job!

From all accounts that I hear, Dane was not Woody's decision. Their personalities clashed. The players picked up on it. The recruits picked up on it. The HS coaches in the state picked up on it. While I'm not assigning blame to who is at fault for this conflict, is it better for the program to let it reside and fester from within????

I'm no Woody apologist either, but IMO, your post lacks a whole lot of perspective.

Speeding huh? From the article that is all you got from it.  Thats like the guy with a trunk full of pot saying its just a little weed. Having someone else take the fall for you, evading police resisting arrest running stop signs. Maybe I was dreaming when I read those accusations. A level 6 speeding ticket, must have been in the Space x rocket instead of a Dodge Challenger. Your under reactions are just as cringe worthy.

I said the same thing at 22. Probably would have said the same thing at 25 or even 30.

Sitting on the brink of 40….22 is absolutely more kid than adult. You might have the privileges and responsibilities of an adult, but many don’t have the life experience yet to know how to handle every situation.

I am 43.  Yes, we made dumb decisions as a young adult, I did too...but he is not a kid.  Not by any definition of the word.  By the time I was 22, I knew when I was doing dumb stuff.  He knew he was being an idiot here and that is why he tries to get the other guy riding with him to switch seats.

These "kids" expect to be treated like adults in any situation except for when it comes to responsibility.

Last I will say on it, I don't really care what is decided one way or the other on this.  There are somewhat valid arguments on both sides of the issue.  This is a new day though, the idea of amateur athletes and kids playing for the glory of old IU is dead and buried.  This is the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants being sold under the cover of the old college model.  There is going to be a transition period among fans until that reality sinks in.  Additionally, the players are going to have to realize that the shift in thinking is going to change how they are viewed too.  You are only a kid as far as that narrative goes to supporting you to keep winning games.

Just like with all the coaches after Knight. The inmates are running the prison.

You do realize Knight was charged for assaulting a police officer in Puerto Rico.

In your mind, that's okay?  But, what X did deserves banishment from all things IU?

The contradictions in your beliefs of what is justice is baffling.

I am not good with that because I dont think he will help. But I am not at practice or behind the scenes. I have always said he must be some great practice player to get the minutes he does in the games.

Blows me away that you supposedly know the game and can read statistics, yet still don't see that he had an objectively very good season on the court...SMH...

You are really underplaying what happened.

If some random dude working at the Garden Center at Home Depot was charged with the exact same offense as XJ was, should he lose his job?

X is not a random dude working at the Garden Center at Home Depot, he is the starting point guard for the team I follow and love. I hate Home Depot thats like saying if he played at Purdue I am a Menards guy.

He should lose his license for a long time.  That is the appropriate punishment for th his crime.  Kicking him off the team is not an appropriate action.  It doesnt fit the offense.

Why did knight assault the officer? He just decided to go out on the street and put a jack ass in a garbage can? Tell the whole story or trap shut.
