They don't look so fearsome.

Their biggest problem is that, no matter how tough they make their non-conference schedule, they spend the last 2/3 of their season beating up on teams that can barely make the NIT.

It does nothing to prepare them once they get past the first two rounds. You need some challenging games in Jan and Feb.

This…..Jan and Feb are where teams take that next step and make that leap in improvement. Teams have grown up a lot in that time. Freshman and first time starters now have 20-30 games under their belt not 2-3. Gonzaga had a lot of continuity in their team…most power 5 teams in the top 10 don’t…and it takes time over the season to gel. Also you learn how to play through adversity in a grinding season. Games when you don’t have your A game you figure out how to win. You don’t just win on talent alone. Feel for them because there really isn’t much they can do…not like they can join the PAC-12 or something. Maybe schedule some mid-season and late season out of conference games instead of just early season.

There might not be anyone left by the time Purdue plays…this tournament has basically opened itself up for them to walk right into the final 4/championship….could finally be their year. Sometimes luck evens out after some tough injury breaks years past.

We’ll probably lose to St. Peter’s lol.
