maybe change the title of this thread?  i keep checking it out thinking something interesting happened with the transfer portal.

I doubt there will be any IU news in the transfer portal so not much to talk about. Until we know what TJD decision is we have no room for another player.

Transfer portal info is in the NBA thread.

C'mon, NC, get with the program.

I'm not sure who's more delusional...Junior or dad.

The only thing his pops has cared about is getting him to the NBA and he's fumbled that badly. Keion himself seems like a smart/good kid, but his handlers have made every decision as though he was a one and done. Transferring in high school, then going to UK, now staying in the draft when he didn't even get invited to the combine. He's 6-7 210 F who's shot 23% from three with only a couple a dozen attempts every year. He was never a full time starter and should have transferred after his first year to some place else where he could have gotten big minutes and worked on his jumper. 6-7 non shooters are a real long shot in today's NBA. Doesn't seem to be any real player development at UK, most guys are drafted based on their high school rankings and upside, not because they played well at UK. For fringe 5 star like Brooks going to UK and being 8th-9th best player on the team is a bad decision. He seems like the perfect portal guy, but obviously teams are not willing to give him a good NIL deal.

Archie picks up Brandon Weston from Seton Hall. He was a 4* #83 in 247 composite that missed his freshman season due to injury.

Will be very interesting to see how Archie fares at Rhode Island.  The fit at IU could not have been worse.  But, in the right environment he could have some decent success.

I think IU was just too tall of a job of Archie.

Noticed Marian University in Indy picked up former 5* (247 ranked 29) Taeshon Cherry. He was expelled from his high school, coached by Brad Leaf, committed to USC, then decommitted when USC was under a federal bribery investigation. He was allegedly the recruit identified as "player 8" in the investigation but denies it. Committed to ASU and played 3 years. Played last year at Grand Canyon U and now supposedly will play for Marian. Never averaged more than 5.9 ppg which he did as a freshman. Hope he's actually getting an education from all this schoolin'.

He had a good season there two years ago

That's probably what he's basing it on, but I can't imagine Ewing's coaching acumen had much to do with that.  Maybe they connected on a personal level and he simply likes Ewing.
