Google search replacement

Recommended Posts

Here is some ideas on replacing Google search.  I have tried Bing but not really that happy with it.

I have too many things wrapped around Google and don't want to give them any more business.  The days of "do no evil" are long past.

*edit*  Yikes!  Last night my wife and I were talking about moving. Since I am still looking for a job I can move anywhere.  I mentioned Siesta Key/Sarasota area that we researched a couple of years ago.  I get on Facebook this morning and the first thing on it is an ad for Siesta Key.  I haven't done any searches nor mentioned Siesta Key on the computer in any way.  I don't have Alexa or anything like that.  This isn't the first time this has happened.  We all have seen the damage that unethical people have done with computer information...How do we keep this information off the web when they actually listen into what you are saying inside your own house?

I think you are looking for https://duckduckgo.com/

I got tired of Google as well and switched my search engine over. They don't collect personal info.

Looks like what you might be after.

As I've only used it a week, not much feedback yet. It works. Results seem to be in a different order. Still getting used to it.

Not sure what to use to replace Chrome.

I switched to duckduckgo a couple of days ago and while different I am getting used to it.  I will continue to look for products to replace Google.
