As long as ESPN has a financial interest in the SEC and ACC, don't expect any favors. Always interesting to watch the SEC struggle in non conference, only to see their teams rise in the rankings by not losing to other crappy teams. We make a ton of cash with the BIG network, but it comes at a price.

I don't know maybe it's just a BIG fan stuck in the heart of SEC country that has jaded me. But who would you rather go through this year in a conference tourney with a NCAA berth on the line, SEC or BIG?

SEC. It's the deeper league but Auburn is the only team they have on the level of our top 3, and they're undersized.

Dratings updated their bracketology this morning. We are the lowest NIT 7th seed.

https://www.dratings.com/predictor/bracketology/

We are currently 73rd in KenPom (which we all know is hampered by the early season woes)...the projected #2 seeds are as follows:

St Bonaventure (63)

Utah (60)

USC (53)

Georgia (70)

We would have a chance to make some noise in the NIT.

I missed the fine print in this projection when I looked at it before.

Interesting.  I believe we are 3-1 against other teams they have listed (and all top 4 seeds).  More evidence of how "automatic qualifiers" are similar to participation trophy recipients.
