This is may be better for the Langford thread, but one sign that never gets brought up in the Langford recruitment is that Vandy is over-signed and yet is still recruiting players in the 2018 class other than Langford, I beleive Kansas just went over-signed by getting a commitment from a 3* wing a few weeks ago, yet IU has had two open scholarships for months and we haven't heard a peep of Archie going after anyone else in the 2018 class.

A guy from Toledo has been mentioned but just a rumor at this point.

Jaelen Sanford is from Evansville originally and essentially has the perfect skill set for what we could use next year.

Shoots upper 30’s on threes.  Six four.  Can handle and score.  Touted for defense too.

“He’s the ultimate winner,” Kowalczyk said. “He’s committed. He’s a tremendous teammate. He came in and started not only his first game, he started his very first practice of his college career.”

He is 3rd year junior so he would have to be able to graduate in 3 years to transfer without sitting out.

Well that sounds unlikely to me then. I figured he'd taken a redshirt the way he was talked about as an option.  Most players do not track academically to graduate in three years.  My daughter, who went into college with 30 credit hours is still taking three and a half years.  It's a load to graduate a year early. Hats off to players like Vic who did it.

Sticking around for the summer sessions helps.

She's doing that this summer to pick up a minor that she & I agree would be helpful and she'll have more hours than needed when she does graduate but it would still seem like only the best students on the team would be able to track for three year graduation.  Most to my memory didn't even attempt it, but I will say that Crean's teams seemed to have more than their share of early graduates.  If it comes out that the kid in Toledo is on target to get done a year early then great, but just guessing based on the averages, I would say he'd probably be a little short.

Living in E'ville, I'd like to see a hometown kid wearing candy stripes.......

My cousin graduated from one of the Evansville high schools 3-4 years ago.  She walked with her associates degree 1 month before she walked with her high school diploma.  Things have changed a ton with dual credits.  If these guys spend their summers on campus getting credits as well, it can be done, and I would be encouraging it too.  Why not get near a masters in 4 like Jordy Hulls?

Agreed.  Phinisee, Green, and Romeo would be the only ball handling guards on the team.

Wasn't aware that kid was a ball handler. With that being the case, Bring him on. Especially if he's the defender that Toledo says he is.

Jaelen Sanford is an excellent ballplayer.   Was at 4A finals when Reitz played Carmel for State title.  Reitz was tough as nails for 3 quarters before Carmel (Biggie was a senior on that team) came storming back from a big deficit to win, IIRC, in OT.

Sanford would be an outstanding Hoosier, in fact at that State champ game a few years ago, I found myself wishing he’d have been coming to IU.   Deadly from 3!  Basketball IQ is off the charts, a true HOOSIER!
