I had stated that the possibility was a RUMOR and just wanted to pass along, in case anyone else was hearing similar buzz. East looked impressive again last night.... had a couple next level moves against CG.

Not sure where you are from, but a local sports talk radio station in Jeffersonville was talking about the rumor of East getting a preferred walk on spot at IU one morning this week. For all I know they could have read that here because it was the morning after you first posted it.

Shot the 3 well and had some great passes.  Needs to add some weight though, wonder if that's keeping him from getting bigger offers?

I have no idea, just know that he’s a hooper and would benefit from a year in the weight room.

I’m from Madison, with ties to New Albany and greater Louisville area. Again, I have no inside information, just know one of Romeo’s former coaches really well, and some other basketball people in the area.

I have a question for all the wonderful folks with knowledge. One is a factual question, and one more opinion based?

First, How do CAM and Ostrom get seats two rows behind the NA bench for the game? I am sure a request has to be put in, but who OK's this? Does Romeo have to say OK considering they were sitting right behind the NA bench? Does it count as a visit? I know this is more than one question but I am wondering how something like this works. When the crowds were as big as they were this weekend, those must have been great seats to see Romeo, TJD and East.

Second, this one is the opinion question, but I would think Bryce Drew does not have a lot going on right now except recruiting, so without trying to read too much into it, is there anything to be said about why he was not there? Probably means nothing, but I was just curious. As always, Thanks to the great knowledgeable

.

....Re: your first question  ....

Could be simple...  Seymour AD or some administrator is an IU grad/fan.. .

Well we have to be on the short list of the most progressive sports journalism, radio, broadcast, analytics,etc....universities in the country. Thanks to Mark Cuban.

My father who was in educational television won an Emmy in the 70's for the best educational television series, beating out Sesame Street that year. In fact, the company my father worked for was started by Indiana University, and later sold, but the startup of that educational television company is what brought us to the beautiful mecca of Bloomington. I bring this up because he was asked to donate the Emmy to the Jounalism School as a new promotional tool to show all their success. Last week, a crew interviewed him here because I believe they are building a new museum or something very similar to highlight IU's success in journalism. It is just another sign IU is making a very big pitch to incoming students about their journalism school, promoting it, and the money they are putting into it. Just another good selling point for a school with a lot of strong educational rankings.

As an aside, the school I teach in, finance at SPEA, which was always seen as the red headed step child to KSOB, and I understand why, but over the last 5 years, both SPEA and KSOB have had major renovations, and it just continues! Going into school, when I teach, I always love to take the crosswalk which goes above Fee Lane, and you can see the arboretum. Beautiful view, as long as you don't look the other way since the coal plant is on the other side:D SPEA is number two or three in undergrad, and one or two depending on the year in graduate school, and one of the best in the nation. With KSOB makes for a great one two punch on the public or private side of business. which ever you are interested in.

Bottom line, the programs here in Bloomington which are really great, are only getting bigger and better. More money keeps flowing into them everyday. If I am a Bball player who wants a good education, IU is a great place for it.

WIUX is still alive and kicking. In fact you can catch the live stream here :

99.1 FM – WIUX

Back in the day, I worked at the student radio station as well..... only then, it's call letters were WIUS.

I did the sports late night scores for a semester back in 1980-81.Wow was it different then as far as Sports and getting scores and anything of value out on the day it happened. The highlight, winning the championship that year! Girl I was dating was a jounalism major, so I had ulterior motives, but I enjoyed it.

Did Archie get a chance to talk to Romeo yesterday?

I read somewhere in an article this morning how Archie was police escorted through the crowd after the game to the N.A. locker room. The article said he was going in to congratulate coach Shannon...and possibly speak to Romeo if he was available.

Could be nothing and maybe it was already covered but some folks on Twitter said that Romeo was waiting to see what Newman from Kansas does. If he leaves he will likely head that way. Could be bull but wanted to share what I read.

I could see roster decisions like that coming into play, but it seems like Romeo might not have that kind of information available to him soon enough for the timeline he has set out...can’t players without an agent stay in the process until may with no penalty?

But, if I were Romeo I would definitely ask those kinds of questions. Would want to know if Morgan is staying at IU as well...and if I was Morgan I would factor Romeo’s decision into mine...

Coach Shannon talked post-game about how he hopes Romeo has a post-presence on his college team next year. Stating he hasn't taken an open shot in a couple of years.

I would encourage Romeo to watch some game tape of our beloved 2017-2018 Hoosiers...where we had one of the best post-players in the nation, who is likely to return. With a good offensive 6'10 post player (injured) on the bench, and a developing Justin Smith, who will be huge in driving and kicking. We took open-3 after open-3 after open-3 this past year.
