Scott Van Pelt has been doing a whole segment on SportsCenter called “Bad Beats” with his insufferable d-bag buddy “Stanford Steve” for a while now.

Thanks for letting me know. I watch ESPN only if IU is on or for football so I miss most if not all of their regular shows. Will be interesting to see how gambling decision impacts ESPN shows given Disney. People assume Florida will be out front on trying to get sports books going. Disney and their lobbyists are very powerful...I don't see it happening there as quickly as people might think.

Sports betting is no longer illegal, but each state has the choice to make it available. I have yet to see anything suggesting that Indiana will allow betting here.

I am not a gambler, never been to Vegas, and frankly, have no desire to start gambling. The work I do entails enough risk as it is. However, if Indiana does approve legalized gambling, what procedures are in place to capture the anticipated tax revenue from winnings? I could see this being a major source of income for any state that enacts the legislation.

I would prefer that if Indiana does enact these laws, that gambling be kept in several centralized locations. I have travelled in several states where every bar, gas station, etc. had slot machines available. I could see this as being an administrative nightmare and a costly endeavor if the state gambling commission had to oversee and ensure that so many locations were keeping their licenses current and following whatever rules and protocols that would ensure that they operate and report to the letters of the law.

Would also not want this site to devolve into any form of outlet for betting or gambling. I could just imagine the amount of vitriol and headaches that the mods would have to deal with when Davis misses a free throw that would have beat the line or the over. Or the criticism that could potentially face CAM when he pulled starters and our victory margin didn't cover. If that occurred here, I would end my membership, and look for other ways to connect to Hoosier Nation.

^^ Each state has its own state laws and regulations as to how state revenue is allocated. In DE for example, gambling monies go to the general fund, whereas in NY, gambling money is largely allocated to education. That's a matter for state legislatures.

I don't have a cite, but I remember seeing that IN was one of the states interested in sports gambling.

No way will this site be an outlet for gambling, even leaving aside the question of legality!

No I go there all the time. Sits in the middle of town. Well when i say lake a mean pond. lol.

It is more like a moat than a pond. French Lick itself turns into a lake a few times a year when they get heavy rains but by only the most extreme stretch of the imagination is the Casino "on the water".

Considering Indiana has $1.8 billion just lying around, I wouldn't hold my breath.
