As his grandmother mentioned, he was a loving kid that was always smiling and goofy (in a good way). I cannot begin to tell you how much it hurts knowing what he had to go through his last few hours on earth. There are very few people in this world that I hate, but his dad is one of them. Society failed that child. The father is quoted as saying "I am not going BACK to prison.". I take that to mean that the father had been incarcerated before because of drugs. There were still drugs in the house. The boy was hungry. Red flags all over the place with a little bit of monitoring by the courts. Where is the oversight to ensure that children are not subjected to this type of thing at home? Reminiscent of a story down here a few months ago where a mom high on meth tried to beat a moving train across the tracks. She survived, but her two small children (ages 4 & 5, I believe) were killed.

Makes no sense to me. May the Dad rot in hell.

Hoosierhoopster
^^ That is big. I've got mixed feelings on the eligibility and return proposal -- definitely good for players, and so I lean in support of it, so guys won't lose college eligibility for trying to get drafted -- but on the flip side, that's likely going to create a lot of uncertainty in recruiting. mrflynn03
Wonder if a coach would be able to fill the roster spot if a player enters the draft and if they go undrafted they have the option to walk on if no scholarships available. Could be a disincentive for guys that aren't ready.
