It’s not like those were designed carries. Either the receivers didn’t get open or Ramsey gave up on his progressions. Probably the latter.

As has been mentioned a million times, there are ways to get the ball out of your qb's hands with a good offensive game plan. Especially against an aggressive defense. That didn't really happen tonight.

Ramsey is not a good bigten qb. It’s that simple. But it’s obviously not all on him. Disappointing performance

You are correct....and yet he had 43 pass attempts tonight....not to mention the 18 rushing attempts (many of which were designed as pass plays). That a lot to ask of a guy who isn't a guy who isn't a top notch qb. We didn't even try to find ways to get the ball out of his hands tonight.

Until IU can come out and put one of these teams away DECISIVELY, they're just not going to come away with a win.

I thought that was going to happen tonight.  Oh well.

I still think this team looks much better than last year, and would take a huge step forward next year with an offensive coordinator who will be more creative.

How many of you before the season started had IU winning this game? 3-1 is right where we should probably be.

Rutgers is garbage.

Minnesota, Maryland, Purdue are all winnable games.

Michigan, Iowa, and PSU will all be tough and OSU just isn't going to happen.

It is more likely than not that we win at least 3 of those games.

Plays that shaped the game:

- Pick six (if IU scored a touchdown on that drive, this alone is mostly the difference in the game)

- Fake field goal

- Official letting a clear push off go uncalled on MSU touchdown

- Officials calling back IU touchdown on a "pick" that rarely ever gets called

(Honorable mention: Debord's refusal to scrap the run game in the face of overwhelming evidence that it wasn't working)

IU can only control those first two.  It seems in this league, in close games, the officials generally give the benefit of the doubt to the traditional powers and err on the side of giving them the 50/50 calls.  After years of watching IU and Big Ten football, I've come to understand that it's just the reality of the situation.

If we want to break through, we have to win in a convincing enough fashion so those 50/50 calls are not a deciding factor.
