Yes.

No idea about Corky.  LaRue and Stinnett were the 2 catchers.  I would presume that Corky was 3rd string.

Regardless, my son wanted to see Junior...I was there to see Adam Dunn.

Corky is a legend in Louisville because of all the years he spent there in AAA.

I remembered him only because he was one of those limited ability guys who I always root for, and he is one of two Corky's (the basketball playing Calhoun being the other) that I know of...

I guess Sosa could have gotten it as a nickname...

What actor who was in "Stargate" was in the Angels organization as a player?  His father also played minor league ball(as well as owning a minor league team) and had a recurring role in a TV western series.  His nephew played for the Cubs.

Seriously, his number has been retired for the Louisville Bats.

Clarification.  did he plan for the big league club, or was he just in the organization?

We have a winner.

Kurt's Dad was "Bing" Russell who played minor league ball and also owned a minor league team.  He is best known for his role as "Clem" on Bonanza.

Kurt's nephew is Matt Franco who owns the MLB record of pinch walks in a season.

So, I brought up former Cub first baseman Pete LaCock...

His father was a TV personality that was a major force in a popular TV show...any idea who his father was?

Yep! Paul Lynde's favorite straight man..

His name was Ralph Pierre LaCock, but he changed it for <ahem> "professional reasons."

If I were his son, I would have went with Peter Marshall Jr.

Actually, his name is Ralph Pierre LaCock.  Pete LaCock is actually Ralph Pierre LaCock, Jr.
