Maybe Yes...Well, it was 1960...In game 7 the Pirates lead 4-0, fell behind 5-4, then 7-4, came back in the 8th and went ahead on substitute catcher Hal Smith's 3 run homer 9-7. Yankees tied it with 2 in the top of the 9th, setting the stage for Mazerowski's leadoff homer in the bottom of the 9th. What a game...And not one strikeout... Watched this the other day. 50th anniversary of the game hosted by Bob Costas. Shows the last 3 innings. Excellent watch, with commentary from both Pirates and Yankees who played in the game. Just think how famous Hal Smith would have been if the Pirates could have held the lead...But when Costas asks him that, he says, "I just wanted to contribute to a World Series."
