Seriously, coaches...what has Kentucky done to deserve still being ranked?

The coaches filling out these polls are simply too lazy to do a little research.

I read one UK fan say their most significant win going into SEC play will be UNC Greensboro. Let that sink in for a sec

Looking at their schedule it could be true. As of today it's their best win

I would bet for the most part that their SID's fill in the polls for them and then maybe (emphasis on maybe) run it by the coach before submitting. Maybe even more than coaches, because they don't have to watch opponent game film, etc., SID's are probably only watching their own teams.

Looking ahead to the teams above us and potential losses this week:

#17 Villanova - at Penn, at Kansas

#18 Miss St - Cincinnati

#19 UK - Utah

#20 Arizona St - at Georgia

#22 Iowa - Northern Iowa

#23 Furman - Charleston Southern, UNC-Wilmington

#24 Houston - LSU

Conservatively, likely at least 3 losses there for ranked teams.  Rivalry games and tough road contests, we all said rankings are not that important, but with a win on Saturday, we move up at least 3 spots.  Yeah, rankings are not that important; washing, waxing and buffing the car isn't that important either, but it's a nice enjoyable luxury.  With a long week between games, it's another talking point.

In terms of the coach's poll.... I read a story a number of years ago, in which many coaches admitted they don't have the time to follow college basketball that closely. And therefore rely more on what others tell them and what they read.   That's for basketball.  Football was a different story.

To be honest, neither one, AP or Coaches matters when it comes "play-off" time in either sport.

i was looking at this same thing.  clearly we could lose any time.  nothing is given.  however, we really should win until atleast the Michigan game.  if we move up 3 spots from the above losses and move up a couple more, we could settle in a little.  would like to get to atleast 20 before that Michigan game.

Don't expect us any higher than 24th in this week's poll. Villanova is the only team ahead of us that will fall. Syracuse lost so they will drop out. We should end up higher than K State but that's not a given.

agreed.  that's fair.  should then climb a couple spots the next week.
