I've been hooked on this case from the start. Read the article above. I really think he's the guy......

Just thinking this one out. Felons are required to submit DNA so if there is crime scene evidence it should be easy to check him. Which might lead to a bigger problem. If there isn't any DNA evidence left by him at the scene....short of a confession I think a guilty verdict would be hard to get.

How far advanced is voice recognition and could it be used since his voice is captured on one of the girls' cell phones at the crime scene?

Good question and point as well. Since every juror these days is a part time CSI member they love DNA. Voice recognition has made phenomenal strides....but nothing like DNA. My guess is it could be 70% conclusive tops....but that's just a guess.

Plus if I were on their team I'd be asking for a change of venue right away. The case was national....but at least a county like Evansville or Gary....somewhere multiple counties away wouldn't be as emotionally invested in finding someone/anyone guilty.

I consider myself fairly non-judgmental, but I would have a hard time being fair and open-minded when children are involved.  Only served on one jury in my life.  Open and shut drug case where the guy sold to an undercover cop.  Was still interesting.

I knew a guy one time that served on a highly publicized murder case where the jury was sequestered in a hotel.  He did not enjoy that at all.

Yep. It happens. Everyone carries prejudices of some kind into a jury box. IIRC you are from Southern Indiana....it's like that David Camm case years ago. So hard to find neutral people.

The Camm case definitely was polarizing.  I would say the percentage of the population that felt he was guilty is North of 95%.

It's him.  I've said it from the beginning, it's his nose. Same odd shape,  crooked to the right and he has an indentation on the left side of his nose that's visible in the first pic and his mug shot.

They just need to shoot that POS and be done with it.

Stone him like they do in Iran.

I do too.

There are a ton of articles online.

  1. Extensive criminal history
  2. Literally caught red-handed in a child molestation/attempted murder
  3. Eerie tattoos of two girls crying tears of blood on his arms
  4. Creepy online videos and posts of wildly inappropriate things like child rape and murder/being in love with a little redhead.
  5. His own brother and stepfather think he's capable.
  6. Has lived in close proximity to the scene of the crime for several years
  7. I can see him in both the old and young police sketch.

If he didn't do it, he's got an evil twin probably close by.  I really want that Delphi case solved.  As a father, it's disturbed me and drawn me in from day one.  Amazing how long it's taken when the one victim had the foresight to video and audio record the perp.  Imagine if police didn't have that...

Another recent story about Chadwell.  Also, looks like he got a little jail cell justice last Wednesday:

...and here's a piece that covers some of his social media stuff.  It veers a little political at one point and loses some credibility with me as a result, but it covers some creepy stuff.

Whether he did the Delphi murders or not, what he did to that poor 9-year-old in Lafayette is enough to lock him up and throw away the keys.  I have no doubt had she not been found when she was, he would have killed her.

That guy is a sick human. Doesn't matter if its related to the Delphi killings or not (I hope it is so the families get closure), but that guy needs to be behind bars for life.

This is where you and I differ.  The Delphi case aside, I see no reason to keep this piece of garbage alive.  He is evil, and evil needs to be extinguished.

I agree.  Rope and bullets are relatively cheap.  Some people should simply not exist.

I have never been able to understand how some people can do the things they do to children. What goes wrong inside of them? It is a natural instinct to care for and protect children. I truly hope this case is solved and justice is served.

I truly believe some people are born irredeemable.  Ted Bundy being a good example.

If you want to get some insight I recommend watching Mindhunters.

Sadly, I have a brother serving time in federal prison for possession of child porn. You think you know someone, (all my life), then you find out there is another part of them. He's been there about 4 years and I still have not come to terms with it. Plus, he is a grandfather as well. So very sad..

Hopefully, this isn't the last of the jail cell justice he receives.  He deserves the Dahmer treatment in there!

Good.

Dont get me wrong, there needs to be a policy in place making sure whoever faces the death penalty did their crime without any doubt.

If there is any doubt in a death penalty they should have the right to appeal.

Haha I agree. That’s why in my next post I said they should stone him like they do in Iran. People like him don’t deserve another breath.

When the United States brought back the death penalty in 1976, the first man to be executed, Gary Gilmore, was executed by firing squad. There's a excellent movie about it called "The Executioner's Song" starring Tommy Lee Jones and Roseanne Arquette...based on a great book of the same name by Norman Mailer.

5 Utah State Troopers with .3030 rifles. 4 shot live rounds but one shot a blank so they wouldn't actually know which Troopers fired the shots that killed him.

Sounds reasonable...but I imagine the girls' family members would prefer to use nothing but live rounds.
