I was wondering if the two teams who loses in the the play in games of the playoffs still be in the lottery.  If not there will be 4 less teams in the lottery so winning the lottery should be easier.  I would think it would be better not to be in the play in games and be in the lottery.

I mean there are some major tanking going on right now. This draft is infinitely better than last years.

Celtics are 8-3 over their last 11 with wins over Milwaukee, New York, Charlotte, Denver and Portland. Not a murders row, but all current playoff teams.

Its been huge to have Tristan Thompson and Langford back (6-1 since Langford returned), and this has been done without Fourier.

I'm not claiming they're a title team, and I'm sure there will still be bumps in the road, but I was always confident most of their issues were injury and covid related.

So you are saying that BS is staying?

Still so weird watching Romeo Langford with the Celtics, he's basically a defensive specialist (and a really good one) that basically runs away from the ball on offense.

Just shows you how hard it is to play in the NBA. This guy is one of the most prolific scorers in Indiana history and averaged 18ppg in the Big Ten as a freshmen, and in the NBA he barely even looks to score.

Don't get me wrong, he's valuable to the Celtics and playing an important defensive role, its just so weird on the offensive end.

I think (hopefully) he just sees his way to get on the floor right now is to play d...spot up shoot when it get's kicked out. Brown, Walker, and Tatum are just all so ball dominant and Smart can be as well sometimes. Just doesn't leave a lot of air in the ball for others. He is just playing off them. Not sure he will ever break out there unless he someone goes down and he asserts himself. Hard to do on a good team when you are just trying to carve out minutes and create a role for yourself. You look at other young stars in the league and they jack up so so so many shots. Many are very inefficient but avg 20-25 a game. If Romeo was on a different team I think he would be asked to do more and would be more aggressive. Hopefully he gets a full offseason this summer and comes back confident and ready to assert himself on the floor. Force himself to be another option....but that might not ever happen in Boston with young guys Tatum and Brown. Down the road he might be that third option but hard to say. He isn't ready to be the second or third option on a team but in reality that is what he needs to grow. He needs a lot of shot attempts and be forced into that role. Even if he isnt efficient early he needs to grow! Anyways he has barely played (healthy) half a season in the NBA. Got off to a slow start. I think he is just trying to find his identity and earn minutes..and this is it for now. Gotta say this though....Archie and IU gave him a HUGE leg up on the defensive end. Most young guys are super lazy and not disciplined. He got that AAU crap out of his system here and was taught very well where to be and how to play defense. Too bad his shooting wasn't also improved....but at least in Boston you can see they are working on it with him. Kid has great tools to work with...and ideal size and athleticism. If he ever gets that confidence in his stroke...watch out!

@BGleas I stopped on the game for a second or two last night (Bos vs LA)....did you get a little heart burn the last 3 mins? I mean Boston almost gave up a 27 pt lead in the 4th. I will fully concede Jaylon Brown has arrived...I thought OG was on a similar track but no...this guy is going to be a super star if he keeps at it. Put up 40 last night and had to come back in at the last to save the win for them.

Would appear as if the Pacers will be picking between 10 and 15 in the draft barring a late season run down the stretch or an even larger collapse then they’ll be higher than that. With that being said lots of good talent in that range to get a guard, wing or stretch four.

Jared Baylor G Baylor

Chris Duarte G Oregon

Jalen Johnson F Duke

Ayo D G Illinois

Keon Johnson G UT

Kai Jones F Texas

Zaire Williams G/F Stanford

Johnny J F UCLA

There's a few of those guys, like Jared Butler, that I would love to get.

EDIT: Just saw a mock that had us taking Moses Moody and Davion Mitchell going the pick after us. Would love either of those guys.

I’d take either of those two! Guys set to return unless a trade happens:

PG - Brogdon/Aaron

SG - LeVert/Lamb

SF - Warren/Justin

PF - Sabonis

C - Turner/Goga

need to either find a 1/2 guard(Aaron can play off ball like he is now) or a stretch 4.

I think Warren can fill the stretch 4 for the minutes we would need. I would want 3 pt shooting wing. Levert is similar to Vic in that he has more of a mid range attacking game then a spot up shooting game. Personally I’d love like a Tre Man, Ayo, or Johnny Juzang. We need 3pt shooting.

The backup point guard is McConnel

I didn't think he was a free agent

Brogdon/ Mcconnell/ A. Holiday

Lavert/ Lamb

Warren/ J. Holiday or Mcdermott if he resigns.

Sabonis/?

Turner/ Goga

I would bring him back for sure. His defensive energy is incredible. That said I thought with how bad we were we should have flipped him/McDermott for a late first or young player. Seems we fight and fight for an 8th place finish. It just isn’t worth it. Personally I would like us to play smaller at the 4 and get more 3pt shooting. Warren will help a lot but we just need more.

McConnell defensive energy is great BUT he’s atrocious outside of shooting 6 foot fadeaway jump shots. Yes he’s gotten quite a bit of assists but this is a 3pt shooting league and he’s a career 33% 3pt shooter. Defenders leave him open at the three point line and sag off to help onto others.

I forgot about Justin in my earlier post
