The Daily Hoosier
Likely discussed elsewhere, but thought this deserved its own thread. Good news for JMo. He really liked the fit in Utah after a workout there. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/reports-juwan-morgan-signs-free-agent-deal-with-utah-jazz/
Hoosierhoopster
Yes that’s a good team for him to have a chance to make and especially after the Conley trade. Very well run organization and they built their team on tough D and young player development. Like Bryant, Yogi and Troy he’ll have a legit chance
Hoosierinbham
It'll be interesting to watch his career. He seems like someone that could really thrive playing a specific role. Defense, rebound, pick and roll, and pass. Good luck Juwan!
BGleas
Interested to see what his deal is. Unless it's a 2-way contract it will be tough for him to make that team. More than likely he'll end up on their G-League affiliate, but the still a huge thing for Morgan and a good opportunity knowing he'll sort of be a "preferred player" on their G-League team. Hoosierhoopster
Also gives him the opportunity to “show,” as Yogi did, to get picked up by another team if the Jazz don’t have room. Morgan is the kind of guy that just helps teams win, every team needs guys like that. He absolutely has the skill to play at this level, it’s about getting opportunities and finding the right fit for him. Hopefully it’s the Jazz. FW_Hoosier
Jazz are pretty loaded at the wing/forward spot, with Jae Crowder, Derrick Favors, Thabo Sefolosha, Georges Niang, and a couple G League guys on the roster. Juwan will have his work cut out for him... Will probably come down to whether he can find any consistency with his three-point shot. Always seemed like the ability was there at IU, but he just never could keep his percentages up.

Also, I don't think they had 2-way deals when Yogi came out, but I'd venture to guess he would have received one of those had they had them. The 2-way deal definitely gives a prospect a leg up. BobSaccamanno
Mitchell and Conley as a back court together could be dynamite. From what I’ve seen, I like Utah’s style of play. I could see them being a legit factor in the weakening West.

addictedtoIU
Good for Morgan. Hope he'd be selfish, get his numbers, and showcase his all-around game in the summer league. No time to be a team-first guy.

BGleas
I didn't see the games, but looks like Dylan Windler and Tyler Herro were the stars of the night last night.
FW_Hoosier
Juwan with 0 points on 0-1 shooting, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 TOs in 14 minutes off the bench tonight. Was the only player on the Jazz not to score, and had a +/- of -8. Not a great start.
