I read the quotes already.  I will repeat that he's not fully cleared to play in games.  He's week to week.  Jumping the gun and misleading folks is not helpful in medical situations.

Bob, you're over-thinking things. No one is jumping the gun or misleading anyone. That he's not cleared to play in games at this point means nothing.

There seems to be some confusion.  Per Rabjohns, Hunter is not fully cleared to play in games.  He's progressing but this isn't a done deal yet.  When it comes to matters like this, an abundance of caution never hurt anyone.  We all hope he will be fine but he still has week to week hurdles to pass in his progression.

Didn't you get the memo? Hunter will average 21....shoot 45% from 3 and a few select posters will say IU screwed up this kid's freshman year by being overly cautious medical wise...probably ruined our chance at Final 4 last year with him, Romeo and Morgan.

According to iubb Jerome Hunter has been cleared to do everything at practice...good news!

And, all those prognosticators that predicted IU to finish 9th or below in the Big Ten will look at the standings in early March and ask themselves 'how the hell did the Hoosiers get a double bye in the BTT'?

I reported the release because IU made it more official, but this really isn't anything different than what Archie said in Evansville.  This is clearly good news, but the good news broke last month when Archie said the same thing -- cleared for all activities -- but being monitored.  There was just someone strangely hell bent and saying "not cleared" that it created confusion.  He's been cleared for all team activities, but being monitored for months.  The really good news is that there haven't been any setbacks as the intensity of the activity increases.  Cross your fingers that continues when practice starts officially on Saturday.

Yeah that’s what i’ve been saying for a while now —

but a little cautionary reaction is not a bad thing, we’ve been snake bit and let down so many times the past few years people are for sure hesitant to jump up with expectations.

So Hunter has missed a season, he still needs to get back into true game form which generally only comes from actual games, beyond even scrimmages, he still hasn’t played a college game — reasons to give him time and temper out-of-the-gate judgments and expectations—

but man am I looking forward to seeing this kid bring and elevate his game.

He. Is. Talented

To add more to it, they “think” he won’t have to worry about this situation ever again.  He will be monitored more than a casino table this whole year.  The more he gets through the more he will play.  He will get days off of practice after games this year but I doubt he will really take the day off.

Thanks. I hope for the best for Jerome.  I feel he is one that can make the pre-season prognosticators look like fools.  It's as if they forgot Jerome was even on the team.

And by "off", I assume that means "no hard scrimmaging". This kid has worked his posterior off. He'll be at Cook shooting or lifting, at the very least.

in all fairness, no one knows for certain what he will bring to the team because no one has seen him play

posted above for those who might have forgotten how good JH was coming out of HS. Kid is a lot bigger now.

That might be one of the better highlight videos ive seen.  It wasnt all breakaway dunks or wide open 3's.  He broke down defenders in the post and with dribbling with a purpose, not just to dribble.  Showed helpside defense AND a dime of a post entry pass.

Nice to see highlights from a game and not an "AND1 mixtape" highlight reel.

He tore up Romeo, Justin Smith, Juwan Morgan, and many others in practice before his illness/injury.  Now will be there some rust? Absolutely, but this kid is a stud!

In addition to the awesome video posted above, and backing up what you are saying here, we all know that Jerome was the first recipient of the golden jersey, before the season started last year.
