Proud2BAHoosier
Why doesn't IU have a mascot? I did some searching tonight because I was bored and looking at Google (it's your friend), I came across this drawing of the original B1G Ten mascots and Lo and Behold, there is a country bumpkin looking IU mascot! I understand that IU used the mascot on shirts, etc.

milehiiu
Indiana University's football team had a mascot, named Ox from 1959-1965. IU looked at replacing Ox with a buffalo, late in the 1960's. That experiment was short lived. One game, if memory serves correctly, as the buffalo broke loose, and ran rampant on the field at Memorial Stadium, before getting corralled. Edit to add : I forgot to mention that Ox was a bulldog. Mac
On the plus side, for us and for everyone but Ohio State, our mascot doesn't have a nut for a head. There's that.
