Tonight's Cubs/Cards game tonight.....postponed, due to another St. Louis player testing positive.

I'm sure my mood is influenced because the Reds suck, but I'm all for putting a fork in the MLB season.  This schedule chaos is out of control.

I'm all for putting a fork in a few teams who can't get their stuff together. Going out to casinos probably wasn't a wise move for the Cardinals. Their behavior impacts all of us NL Central folks. Now we have not only the DH with Reds on the books, we add another one for tonight....not counting what happens over the weekend. Their behavior and a few other teams are causing havoc. Not the overwhelming majority of the players who are handling their business.

No Cubs Cards all weekend. Thanks St. Louis.....because of your players actions we now have minimally 4 doubleheaders now.

Would hate to see it but it seems to me the best thig to do is for the MLB to cancel the season.  They should have been smarter and had the season in a bubble in Arizona.

Why? Seems like 27-28 teams are handling fine. Cancel a season because of the minority?

Well those 4 or 5 teams are effecting the schedule of all the other teams.  I thought from the beginning it was a mistake to start the season in  the MLB and the NBA.  I really thought that when the MLB did not go the route of the bubble because it has been obvious these players will not listen to rules.  Had a group go a casino and others have went to places they should not be going to so unless somthing changes we will see more teams having problems.

Understand. Here's my thing though. In plenty walks of life the victims are becoming the bullies. The Cardinals players were told what to do or not...they didn't comply. Now everyone else has to deal with those actions. St. Louis can just forfeit but I pray Manfred doesn't just say the heck with it because of 3-4 teams. Greater good in play now.

I forget which team they were talking about on MLB but a team has 55 games in the next 52 days.  I know the Reds have played 13 games so far and that includes having two rainouts.  I think the Marlins just played their 7th game last night and I think a couple of teams has played 5 or 6 games.

The top of the first inning of the Reds game just shows how the game has changed.  The Reds Nick Senzel led off with a walk and has pretty good speed but never tried to steal. The next two players  struck out and the next guy got a single.  If he stoled second then they would have scored a run but they did not score.  From a team that has not scored for 24 innings you would think they would try Everything to score.

3 more for Cardinals. 16 total. I know the virus doesn't know any boundaries but they seem to be worse than anyone in baseball. Punish them if they broke protocol. They've missed 12 now....and doubt they can play by Monday. Forfeit them.

Just another reason to hate the cardinals.

If the Reds can get into the playoffs I think they would be a dangerous team.  There starting rotation going into last night led the league with a 2.57 ERA.  It had went down since the last two nights the starters gas went 12 innings and only gave up 1 run. Through 14 games the Reds has an MLB record 165 K's. No pitching staff has ever had that many K's in the first 14 games.

Also I don't know why my auto correct always changes Reds to Refs

Hi Ho.....  Hi Ho.... It's back to the IL "Mr. Injury Prone Stanton" goes with a strained hammy....

Can this guy stay healthy???????????  😡

Seriously. Not a Yankees fan per se but I always keeps an eye on them. Regarding Stanton though. Broken ribs or wrist injuries are one thing....but muscle strains and little things like that are different. I don't like the label for him but it seems justified in using from here on out.

Forfeiting does not seem fair to the teams that are not scheduled to play them.  Those wins could determine a divisional race, a 2nd place race, or the race for the final two playoff spots based on winning percentage.  From that perspective, if they cannot be made up, leaving the games vacated seems to be the better option.

PS...Nick Castellanos is really good. Showing why so many of us Cubs fans are hoping he opts out after this year and becomes a free agent again.

Why on earth would Castellanos want to leave the hitter's paradise that is known as GABP?  To win, I assume.  That's why it's so important for the Refs (Scott's name for the Reds) to win this season.

Yep and I agree but what's the alternative? They have minimally 8 games to make up as of now. Guess it will just have to a ton of DH's down the road but Manfred better be kidding when said winning % could determine playoffs. If that's the case I hope the Cubs all get corona and we take the rest of the season off because at 10-3 our winning % would win the division.

I say that half jokingly but half not. It's almost like a guy who runs a pool and doesn't announce how many spots he's going to payout until he figures out if he still has a chance to place in the $. All of this should have been planned for from beginning. As easy as saying 60 game schedule but if your team doesn't finish 50 decisions you aren't eligible.....anything would better to rear view mirror thinking that Manfred has perfected.

He tore it up with the Cubs after they acquired him last season as well. He hit well at Wrigley and had .321 with 16 HRs and 36 RBIs in 212 at bats with Chicago...in other words I think he could do just fine at Wrigley as well...I am actually a little surprised Cubs didn't make more of a push for him last year.

I just think today's athletes just trains to much and don't allow their bodies to heal.  I think they try to gain to much muscle which leads to lots of strains and pulls.  I look at Michael Lorenzen of the Reds and he looks more like a body builder than a pitcher and I think that is why he is having trouble pitching.
