I loved it on the 70's as well because coaches was aggressive and not scared to take chances.  Like I said I miss the days with guys like Bradshaw and Staubach throwing deep a lot.

Scott, you have a very selective memory.

Then you should thank Sid Gillman and curse Bill Walsh...

Every week, around 2 p.m., I always think "wow, this game is moving quickly, I can't believe it's almost halftime." Then halftime usually arrives around 2:30.

That's all due to Reich's clock management.

Seems to me the 70's were 3 yards and a cloud of dust...then enter the West Coast offense...

They didn't throw it as often, that's for sure...Most subscribed to the Lombardi theory, "only 3 things can happen when you throw the ball, and 2 of them are bad."

If you look historically at yards per completion, the guys from the 40s and 50s dominate the top spots.

The highest current QB is Patrick Mahomes at 55...

But I also think Yards Gained After the Catch plays in here too...a lot of big plays today are short passes a guy breaks...

And former Bears QB Virgil Carter had something to do with the genesis of the West Coast offense...Walsh was the OC for the Bengals under Paul Brown, when the #1 QB, Greg Cook (who I think would have been a star if not for injuring his throwing shoulder) went down...Carter's arm was so weak, Walsh implemented the little dink and dunk offense to fit his skills (or lack thereof)...

Ugh, the Eagles defense is so bad! I realize they're playing Mahomes and the Chiefs, but the Chiefs haven't punted once all game.

The Eagles are the most penalized team in the league so far and have two encroachment penalties on 3rd down by the same DE.

Ugh, the Eagles just threw a 35ish yard TD pass to Devonta Smith and then the refs threw a flag and said he stepped out of bounds on his route.

He was somewhat forced out but then took 3 steps back in bounds before catching the ball. What is the rule around reestablishing yourself inbounds?
