Just read Poles will be doing all interviews by end of day tomorrow. Not really enamored with any of these guys but who knows. Imagining him with that wealth of offensive talent would be scary. But yeah if you have two qbs then you have no qb...the Winston/Hill situation will be a mess. I don't think he wants to be remembered as a coach taking the Saints back into mediocrity...he wants his tenure to be the Brees era. Take a break...refresh...and then make a decision if you want to coach again and pick your place. McCarthy gets fired and poof you have Payton with those weapons? Another place could be Arizona too. Their owner was not happy at all about the slide toward the end of the season. If I'm a free agent coach or qb...I'm staying away from the AFC for time being if all things equal. Seems there might be an agenda in the media to push the narrative for him because he is a POC but honestly...it does minorities and NFL no good if they hire someone that isn't fit for a position and then have to move on quickly when it doesnt work out. It could just set minority coaches back even further. That said I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in to "push" Carson. Not only do I think Carson needs to feel pressure to have the best season of his career but he also has the tendency to get hurt...and we should be a playoff team and I want a capable qb behind him. It was different with Luck and Peyton...if they got hurt you knew the season was over regardless if it was major because the teams couldn't carry us....but with the squad we have...a good backup is a great investment to keep us afloat until the starter comes back or keep us in the playoff picture. Can't imagine he wants to saddle up to a new qb which means he gets tagged....and doesn't report until week 10 or traded to the 49ers too. Far fetched I know but this is my guess.
