That is what many mainstream reporting is saying...however, if you read/listen closely they are being vague in their reporting (even Biggs). This Debearsblog guy apparently has had numerous scoops before that he stated before it became known to mainstream media. Not sure who is connections are, but he is claiming in this podcast that Nagy was indeed told a week and a half ago he was done and given the option of finishing out the season. He said Pace is a done deal that he is going to be fired, but that he is well liked by George, and although George wants to keep him, he doesn't want to answer to the media since he can't really justify keeping him. He stated that just because things appear to be quiet in Halas Hall, that hasn't been the case. Wouldn't it be fun to be an organization when the calendar turns to January it's all about playoffs? Every year with this nonsense. There were some rumblings and rumors that he might. The Bears are a conservative franchise though, and have never fired a coach midseason. If that blog reporter is correct in the podcast, they gave him the option on leaving for the final two games or finishing the season.
