Nebraska is currently pounding Minnesota. The B1G is gonna be wild this year.

I wasn't completely surprised by this game just knowing how typical it is for them to seemingly come out of nowhere and clobber a good team at home. Their forte under Miles has always been mind blowing inconsistency.

Plus Little Ricky can't coach.  It's a good thing he can at least recruit.  Talent will win them a fair number of games this year, but his inability to make adjustments when things are not going well will prevent them from going on any deep run in March.

Wonder how much longer Lil Ricky will be able to keep up that good recruiting now that the family secrets are out...

Was listening to Sports Center this morning and Van Pelt was interviewing some guy who is supposed to be a college bball analyst/expert. Didn't catch the guy's name.

Van Pelt  graduated from Maryland, so he has a vested interest in B1G basketball. Conversation got around to how bad the conference is going to be this year and their takes were that outside of MSU, the conference will be really poor.

The jury is still out on Purdue, but yeah, it's MSU and everybody else.

And Lavar Ball has pulled son LiAngelo out of UCLA.

The guy is such a complete and total idiot. Hopefully for the kid his idiot father will realize, after not "allowing" UCLA to punish his son for his son's dumb act in China, that if he's not going to play at UCLA then, for his basketball future, he should at least seek a transfer or play overseas. Unfortunately, the message this sends to NBA teams who might look at LiAngelo (and right now he is on nobody's draft board) is that rather than own his mistake, his complete idiot, loudmouth dad's involvement is a major distraction that has now resulted in his not owning his -- hello -- crime.

"I'm going to make him way better for the draft than UCLA ever could have," Ball said.

Lavar Ball should just shut up.

I wish LiAngelo would tell his Dad to shove it and stay at UCLA.  As you said, he isn't an NBA player now or ever, and an education from a school like UCLA could be great for him.  Not to mention, he'd get to play 4 years of college ball for a good program.

If they were smart, since he isn't the caliber basketball player of his two brothers, they'd be pushing LiAngelo to be the one to stay in school and get a business degree, and potentially masters, and he'd be the one groomed to actually run the BBB business. Lonzo and the younger one would be the face of the brand (if they can push their moron dad to the side) and LiAngelp would actually run it. Someone has to have some business acumen for that thing to actually work, and by all accounts (if we can go by what the father says) LiAngelo is a great student.

Heard a story today that Lavar has reached out to teams in Europe on behalf of both of his younger sons, looking to get them employed.

Evidently a team in Lithuania responded that they have an opening for LiAngelo in security, as he seems to have some experience in that field:D

I totally agree.  It shouldn't be that hard to graduate in 3 years and then start his MBA at UCLA or grad transfer to somewhere else. This year could even be a redshirt to make sure he has time to finish both degrees while on scholarship.

There are 7 D1 teams without a win yet.  2 in the MEAC and 5 in the SWAC.  Mike Davis and Texas Southern are one of those that are winless.  They are in teh midst of 13 straight road games to start the season.

Yeah, Southern does that every year. Then they usually win their conference.

Illinois hung on against mighty Austin Peay.
