Just received an email for the Superintendent of our schools and found out that 1 of the teachers at Ayden's elementary , one that he has lots of contact with has tested positive and is in ICU at Columbus Regional Hospital. This is the 1st case for Decatur County.

Prayers to Ayden and your family.

My daughter stopped by here yesterday.  She is 24 and works at a nursing home.  She also likes the night life.  She told be that the director of the home had a meeting with employees/staff Monday about their after hours practices.

Finally got the plan for my company just now. Work from home until 16APR2020 unless your job requires you to be in facility. We are a 12,000 person, international company. This applies to everyone EXCEPT China, where 72% of our employees have resumed normal work activities. I work from home already so that doesn't effect me, but most of those 12,000 don't and those required in plant are in the teen's % wise. ouch.

At least we all have our 401ks to be thankful for.

I have two people I've worked very closely with over the last 20 years who planned on retiring a little  earlier this year.  Both decided to stay a little longer so they would have something to do.  I'm not going to be bold enough to ask if they moved all of their money out of high risk portfolios or not.  But, I sure hope they did.

And, then, maybe even worse, I have a couple of other long time co-workers who were given a 45 day notice in February that their job was being eliminated.  I'm not sure how that process works either, so I don't know if they would have been able to move funds out of their 401K immediately upon receiving notice, or whether the funds were stuck there until their 45 days were up.

The state of Kansas just announced they will not be opening up public schools the rest of this school year.

And there is a pre-med student in Reno, Nevada, who has organized a group of 90 students to deliver groceries for elderly citizens.  They will have to pay for the groceries. But she is not charging a delivery fee.

Client. This is just a brief glimpse into what's coming not just in Chicagoland but nationally.

Good news.  My son came home with one package of toilet paper today, from our local grocery store.  We were not out.  But wanted to add to what we have, for fear of running out. He was told he could purchase two packages. But opted not to...in order to leave some for others.

YOu must have raised him on ex-lax because he is the shit!  (sorry, it's a play off of an ancient joke). In all seriousness, that sounds like a good young man.

Update on my co-worker who's son just got back from Germany, and opted to self quarantine so as not to put our boss a blood cancer survivor at risk. He was ordered back to work today! Told you some managers are a....Holes! He self quarantined in our ME lab! Our plant is still running even though other plants around us have shut down and today Detroit automotive shut down. At least tomorrow they will require all employees have their temperature taken with infra red thermometers before they enter the plant?

Don't shop at Target much any more. However, I understand the local Target store will be opening up before regular hours. For great Americans, 60 years or older.

And like you. All of our local grocery chains will be having special hours for seniors.

We have 923 cases in NYC as of earlier this morning. They had predicted 1,000 by end of week, but we'll top that by the end of the day.

I wish I could stop checking these numbers, as we now have 1,871 cases in NYC as of the end of the work day. If you do the math for the next week or month, it does not look good.

I have never been to Brooklyn where you live. NYC has a high concentration of people living close to each other. That I do know. And not all that great at a time like this. However, I saw a live feed of Times Square this morning.  And it was nearly deserted at the time.

Take care.  And above all.  Do not panic..

No panic here, but definitely concern for our neighbors and business owners. One of the things that makes Brooklyn so great (as compared to all the chain stores in Manhattan) is that we are a collection of smallish neighborhoods with vital small business owners - shops, restaurants, and bars. Picture a bunch of small Indiana towns all pushed up against each other, so that you can comfortably walk from town to town to sample the best that each has to offer. I do worry that our local businesses won't survive this.

Thing I have learned about where you live as well all around NYC.... is that one can get almost anything to eat. At all hours of the day and night.  I think that is neat. Same concern here, in the Denver metro area, that some are projecting that up to 30% of small business will not be making it through this troubling time.

Just met my neighbor for the first time. I told him I was embarrassed because I had never seen him before. He said no worries he's always up in the air. Turns out he's a pilot for United. Flew back from Dallas to Indy yesterday with 1 passenger. Day before from San Francisco to North Carolina it was 43 instead of 193.......he also said that Southwest would be bankrupt by May 1st if help isn't given because they are mostly leisure travel. Said his trips for next week and beyond have all either been reduced or cancelled (yes I'm a 2 l guy for cancelled). Scary times.

Saw a report this morning that said United said their flights were down by 60%.  Apparently that is not the case, based on your neighbor's report.  Amazing.  One passenger on a flight that I assume would be packed.

No one is going to Las Vegas right now either.  Saw live pics of the strip this morning.  And was shocked that there was no traffic on the street, and no one walking in front of the casinos.
