Non-conference strength of schedule MATTERS on Selection Sunday. It was the only thing that kept IU on the bubble last year, and unfortunately it may be the thing that knocks IU off the bubble this year if they can’t win down the stretch. On the other hand, we’d definitely be in Purdue’s position or worse right now if we had a tougher non-conference schedule, so it probably was the right decision overall. Glad you brought this up because I've been noticing this as well. I know Crean got some slack for having a very easy non-con schedule but to put it into perspective Crean's tenure we had one top 150 rank in Non-Conference Strength of Schedule Adjusted Efficiency Margin on KenPom (63 in 2009), but every other year with Crean we had it range from 258-340 with an average of 306.375. With Archie it has improved a little but not much, being 243, 207, and 197 this year. This should change a lot being in Maui next year with better opponents and having the B1G/ACC challenge (likely) away. To add even more perspective, the average rank for the top-10 overall in KenPom are 146.3 in this category and Purdue is ranked 76 in this category while being 22 overall in KenPom
BornHoosier
We can argue our weak non conference schedule all we want but bottom line is CAM needed WINS and what did each of his prior teams LACK? 20 WINS, which is the secret formula that no one seems to grasp. CAM prior teams just missed this threshold by one or two games each season regardless of their mighty “Quad” 1 wins which made it so frustrating. Thank goodness CAM finally understood this secret formula & it’s about to play dividends. We get to 20 on SAT, I could care less what seed we get or how many times we lost to PU as we will be the only team to Dance. Stupid Boilers, you put all your eggs vs the Hoosier Baskets only to be left out of the March Madness Brackets!!! Eat a Bleep Haarms!

FW_Hoosier
Final standings and bracket. Nebraska and Penn State it is. No reason not to beat them both and lock in our spot.
CincyHoosier
Nebraska then Penn St then Maryland. That is as good a draw as we could have hoped imo.

BornHoosier
Won, Won, should’ve WON, Won vs MSU! IU can reach Sun no doubt in my mind but if we have to play Mich or dare I say PU, NO CHANCE. OUR tourney STARTS Wednesday, just hope this team realizes that a loss is NOT an option! Go Hoosiers
