Way too early IU vs Nebrasketball BTT pre game thread

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard any updates on the two Neb. players who were suspended.  To me reading what Hoiberg said in his press release it would appear to me that neither will play the rest of the year but who really knows.  With this being Mack's 5th time being disciplined you would think he would be done for good.

Nothing new, but I wouldn't be surprised if they play against us...

Supposed crux of the matter is a traffic accident where Mack left the scene. Xavier Simpson of UM only got one game for a similar issue...

But I also read that Mack had insinuated on Twitter that he was leaving the program, so...

If Burke and Mack don’t play they will be limited and have to play the same 7 players yesterday. Rotate defenders on Cheatham. Personally if that happens I think IU would be better off going to 4 guards and Trayce to start the game. In the late first early 2nd half go with Brunk and DeRon to wear and tear the low post. Ouedraogo and Cross Arop will have to rotate and play the entire game. If any of those bigs get in foul trouble early I would like to see this game be an opportunity for Iu to feed TJD and Race. Try to get TJD 15 shots and Race around 10

We beat Neb, there's a good chance we get in. We beat PSU, our ticket's pretty much guaranteed. My expectation in BTT is we go 1-1 and anxiously wait for Selection Sunday. Always hope for a pleasant surprise.

I think we are in with just a win against Neb.

We should beat Nebraska with or without those guys. With that said we have to be the worst Big Ten Tourney team (especially since it's in our backyard) of all time. I take nothing as a lock.

Not quite the worst by winning percentage, but ...

Off the top of my head I can remember 3 of our losses coming on a last second shot. Recker(Iowa), Bradford(UI), Harfarber(Minnesota).

Here is the article I read. From the way I read it, it seems like those two aren’t playing again this year or maybe ever again.

https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/teams/mens-basketball/nebraska-guards-dachon-burke-and-cam-mack-suspended-indefinitely/article_d6eb50d2-0d36-5302-93cf-9a20b9f7b47d.html

I read that to say the kids were already in Minnesota for a road game and they got sent home to Nebraska. They could have just been in street clothes on the bench, or even stayed in the locker room, instead they had to come home. Hard to see doing that on Saturday just to let them play again on Wednesday.

I mean it talks about building culture in that article. What kind of culture are you building if you suspend a guy twice and let him come back and play
