Re-watching Peaky Blinders for the 2nd time. Absolutely fantastic. I'm glad I put subtitles on this time lol

Loved Part 1 of Ozark. Yellowstone season 4 was good. Ready for Peaky Season 5, Jack Ryan Season 3, and the last part of Ozark. My wife said the "Mayor of Kingstown" was really good, but only one season out for now.

LOVED the Manhunter series. I watched the first two, they are about the ATL Olympic bomber and the Unabomber. Not documentaries, but reenactments of real events and dramatized. What is that genre called? lol Just like the OJ Simpson series/the other that FX has made?

What else..... F is for Family is really good, imo.

She also watched the Dr. Death, again just one season for now.

I very much enjoyed both Narcos series, as well. Narcos and Narcos Mexico.

Evil Genius is a mini series I watched about a bank robbery gone CRAZY. Pretty good 4 part series.

I agree with most of that the others I have not seen but would guess I would like as well. Wife and I watch tons of crime and murder shows. Watched one last night about the Gabby Petito case and the Chris Watts story. I would love to be locked in a cell alone with Watts with a bat or something thats for sure.

Can't wait for Season 5 of Yellowstone found out something crazy that I did not know. The crazy can't understand a word she says foul mouth Teeter is played by Michael Landon's daughter.

I think season 3 of Manhunter is in production with a whole new cast thought. There are some great shows on reelz which we just recently added.

They come out with a 3rd one that is set in England. Haven't decided if I'm going to watch it.

Or were you meaning Mindhunter? Because I've watched that, as well, and REALLY like it.

You are correct .Mindhunter.  IN high school I wanted to be either a CSI specialist or FBI profiler back before they were thought of as cool. After tearing my ACL I could not decide if I wanted to go the Marines to go that path or college. I really wanted to pursue playing basketball but that injury ended any hope of that as I did not want to walk on NKU and since I loved IU so much the rest is history. I often wonder what might have been.

With that being said I probably would not have met my wife and that I would not trade for anything

Oh yeah very cool line of work for sure!

For anyone that doesn't know.... Mindhunter is the beginning stages of Criminal Minds, essentially. And the ideas they come up with during that time are met with MAJOR abrasion.

I loved when they interviewed Kemper. John Douglas is the FBI agent that did that interview and many others and helped come up with the idea of profiling.

BTK and the Zodiac Killer are the 2 that really interest me. Saying that makes me sound like a whacko but I think everyone knows what I mean. My future daughter in law has the same obsession with studying serial killers that I do but she listens to tons of podcasts and fills me in. I am not the podcast type

Season two of Euphoria ended last night. This is an extremely well done and well filmed show. The subject matter can be tough, especially if you have teens or pre-teens at home, but man it’s a wild ride. The acting is incredible, but it’s production values and filming really put it into the next level.

I'm with you on the serial killer thing and wondering if I'm a wacko, and Ozark is brilliant so far (I'm nearing the end of season 2), so definitely would recommend it. Agreed that Mindhunter is also extremely well done, and the guy that plays Kemper in a couple of the episodes is brilliant. There are a number of docuseries on Netflix on SKs if you haven't gone there yet, too - Green River, Bundy, Night Stalker, and some others.

You might want to pass along to your future DIL (congrats, btw!) a podcast called True Crime Garage that touches on some serial killers (and there's an episode on Lauren Spierer, too - that's how I found it).

Thank you. Yes we watched those on Netflix I think. I will let her know. I always wonder if people think I am a whacko for how much I am interested in that genre

I hear ya, but I made my peace with it awhile back. I'm mostly interested in the psychology of it - what causes a human to do such extreme things to others, what we've learned from that behavior, that sort of thing - but I also have a dark side when it comes to movies, shows, and whatnot. My wife doesn't care, except that I messed up her Netflix suggestions algorithm when she added me to her account.

I mean, there are worse things to be into ... Purdue and/or Kentucky immediately come to mind.

Not yet. Wife is hooked on some shows on some unsolved murders and as soon as she is done we will start it. We have not watched any episodes yet. Looking forward to it

If you like Mindhunter type shows, go buy some John Douglas books. They based the character of the younger FBI agent after him....same thing with Jack Crawford character in Silence of the Lambs. He talks about his interviews with some of these serial killers and how they are able to build profiles of them in his books and it is fascinating stuff.

If you’re into solving serial killings, you should rent the movie Citizen X . I don’t see that it’s streaming free anywhere. An investigator in the Soviet Union who studied American crime is convinced he’s dealing with a serial killer, but the bureaucracy says serial killers only happen in America! You can imagine what he’s up against! Based on real events, you should give it a watch.

Looks like I can catch it on HBO, so will check it out. Thanks!
